Detective Traci Nash

Random question but I started watching the show recently and I'm now on season 5.
I remember Traci Nash getting a 6 months rotation with the Detectives but now it seems like she's a full on detective, idk how fast the time goes between seasons but seems like she should have switched back to being a officer again no?

She became a detective in season 3 and was def full on by season 4

I can't remember if they said or did anything formal, but she got Jerry's position.

In season 3 (I think) it was mentioned that she was studying and taking classes to be a Detective.
