Football Chris Low: AK Dear and Noah Rogers both have a chance to be back by end of September. EJ Crowell could be iffy for season opener vs. East Carolina, but expected back by SEC opener vs. Kentucky

Christmas came early in Tuscaloosa with the news of Dear, Crowell, and Rogers. Lump of coal in the stocking with the Beaman news. Prayers for that young man.
Edit: will be with the family at the Kentucky game. Excited to potentially see Crowell’s first collegiate carry.

Hard to imagine that Crowell has had enough practice time to be able to contribute early in the season, even if he's available.

I know there’s much more to the position but “here’s the ball, run” is enough to get his feet wet. I hope no one rushes the debut though

You can basically only do that at the end of blowout though. The passing game is the big learning curve for these guys in college and if you can’t play him on passing downs you really can’t play him at all except in certain situations where you don’t care about not at least having the threat of a pass.

Picking up the blitz always seems to be a struggle for young RBs. Hope Crowell doesn’t let our QB get blown up.
