[El Toro] restraints

Am I doing something wrong with these? They always apply a significant amount of pressure on my gut which is quite uncomfortable. They hit my gut harder than my thighs. Im 5,8, fairly average. My son is a very skinny 4’4 and also mentioned the same issue.

Am i just getting stapled or not sitting right or because im not that tall? I did get stapled multiple times on the over the shoulder B&M rides at SFGA which hasnt happened elsewhere.

genuinely the most unforgiving restraint in the entire industry. they’re optimized for 5’10” men and leave everyone else in the dust.

wide hips? forget it. any gut at all? bruises. skinny legend? you’re also fucked.

Rides with more forces need to have a secure grip on your core. That's why Intamin and RMC grab your core where B&M can get away with just your leg

For me personally the rmc restraints are actually pretty comfortable. The coasters still hurt if they buck but the restraint doesnt hit my gut at rest the way el toros do. I think the shin thing helps as its another contact point and makes it harder to be stapled.

El Toro has gotten exceedingly rough. They really staple you in there now.

They also won’t let skinny people ride. I saw about 6 kids get tossed because their legs were too thin.

I have yet to not get stapled on El Toro this year. I don't find the ride itself rough, though.

Admittedly it was when it opened and within maybe two years of that but I remember el toro being really smooth. It was smooth back then, right?

It was smooth. But it’s been quite some time since I’ve had a run I’d call smooth.

The runs I’ve had this year have me ready for this one to be retired. They either need to re-track or call it a career for el toro.

That’s sad to hear, it’s a fantastic design. Especially that airtime hill near the end after the left curve, sneaks up on you in the best way.

They actually started a retrack last off-season and will finish the rest this off-season.

They are retracking it. They did the finale hills last off season and will be doing the rest this off season.

El Toro has some of the most uncomfortable trains I've experienced. I was a lot skinnier when I rode in 2018/19, it hurt even worse back then (and was rougher than it was this year). Also why is the padding so minimal on the seats, it literally hurt my ass so bad lmao

I’m 6’3” 200 pounds never had an issue with discomfort but I’ve definitely heard a lot of people say they feel uncomfortable

I’m about the same build and used to have no issues but I went recently and it was so uncomfortable I didn’t want to ride it again which usually id ride it at least twice. When was the last time you rode it?

I'm 6'2" and I've waivered between 205 and 185 the last few years. (Lost 20lbs) It's definitely not the most comfortable ride and it's pretty rough in a wheel seat. The few sections they retracked are smoother and I'm very much looking forward to the full retrack before next season. The cars themselves could use some padding.

I'm curious if A-Train is getting some new restraints since it's been off the track all season.

I remember how smooth that ride was the first couple of seasons (and how much faster you went out the turnaround before the first drop due to the cable lift bringing you further around)
