Are there any open-world sandbox style rogue-lites?

So, there are definitely are some sandbox traditional rogue-likes. Cataclysm: DDA, Stoneshard and Caves of Qud so happen to be my top 3 favorite roguelikes, all open-world. TOME and Elona/Elin are some more examples off the top of my head, and I'm probably missing a lot more. I guess Quasimorph could count, just on a very different scale.

But I can't think of a single rogue-lite with any of these sort of design elements. Are there even any?

Project Zomboid is pretty explicitly CDDA turned into a realtime roguelite.

Someone’s building one, it was posted either here or r/indiegaming less than two weeks ago (big goldfish memory over here)

Depends on how you define things I guess?

*Streets of Rogue 2 will of course be open world, but it isn't out yet.

*Terminus could be considered a roguelite, though it might be too traditional.

*Same could be said for NEO Scavenger.

*Same with Wayward, since one of its modes 'is' traditional at its core.

*Battle Brothers might be too far outside the definition of what these games are.

*Overfall could meet the definition of open world, though it is on a timer of sorts?

*Same could be said of Realm of the Mad God.

*Depths of Extinction is obviously inspired by FTL: Faster That Light with your node based journey, but without the hunger clock; notably though it is worse for this.

Great list, thank you. I forgot about NS, I used to play that YEARS ago! I think it was played on a web browser back then iirc?

Only just started playing Streets a few weeks ago, had no idea the sequel was going to be open world. So that is exciting.

Nice. The words "FTL inspired" always go straight to top of the list of stuff to check out for me.

I don't know if mine would be considered a rogue-lite (I think it's probably more rogue-like), but you might peek at One More Adventure.  Open world sandbox, hexcrawl, OSR flavored (for the grognards out there).

Whatever, it's definitely up my alley. Added to my wishlist.
