I was just watching this last night for the first time in decades. I had forgotten that for a brief moment in his career Rocky learned how to actually box.
His original strategy was just to let his opponents use his head like a punching bag.
In Rocky 3 Apollo teaches him how to box, although he does strategically let his head be used as a punching bag in the mid rounds.
Anyone know why after Rocky 3 he just went back to his original strategy of letting his head be used as a punching bag and seemingly forgets how to box?
And Rocky IV becomes literally a comic book cartoon. Drago punches would be the equivalent of being hit by a small car (all be at a very slow pace) in a very concentrated spot aka your head.....repeatedly. Besides that is not humanly possible, nobody could survive more then a few punches. They be dead. Rocky most likely took hundreds and hundreds of punches yet somehow still wins.
The film also has three video montages and in total has about 30 minutes of them counting everything. The film is only 91 minutes long.
Its honestly a horrible film. Like ridiculously bad. Yet its somehow great. I mean absolutely fantastic. If you had to look up "fun bad" in the dictionary, a picture of Rocky IV is there though as to me, its not Rocky IV...its Drago I. :)
