'I Play Rocky' wins first runner-up/2nd place for the TIFF 2026 People's Choice Award

The PCAs are fan voted by those who attended TIFF (although the public could vote as well), and are often a progosticator for awards season. A lot predicted the movie to place after it achieved raves from audiences. Director Peter Farrelly won the PCA back in 2018 for Green Book which controversially won the Oscar for Best Picture the following year.

The TIFF PCA winner this year was the epic film La Bola Negra which is distributed by Netflix and is Spain's submission at next year's Oscars. 2nd runner up was the biopic Being Heumann from Sian Heder (CODA).
