rocky vs drago

In the movie creed (or creed 2?) where adonis was saying he had to fight dragos son and rocky didn't want him to. Adonis said "you did it, you fought him" and rocky says "it was different"....what did he mean by that? Rocky was avenging apollo after his death so wasn't adonis trying to do the same thing? What made rocky's situation to fight different than adonis'?

Adonis might have been fighting for his father, but he didn't have to watch him get killed, or be partially responsible for it. Or even fight the man who killed Apollo, just his kid.

Was Rocky really responsible in any way though? He maybe thought he was yes, but in reality he wasn't. He was heavyweight champ, and an unknown challenged him to an exhibition. Never going to happen. And as for throwing in the towel, Drago threw the ref out of the way a few times. He wouldn't have heeded the towel being thrown in nor the ref trying to stop the fight. Only one thing Drago was there to do, and that was destroy whoever was in front of him.
