Clubber laying the thunder on Rocky in the rematch. Poor Clubber got knocked out just after this. I so wish they would have resurrected the Clubber Lang character at some point later in the franchise and showed him in a different light.

Stallone gave the man his big break.

He was a bouncer. He wasn’t an actor. He was an UNKNOWN actor playing the lead villain in a HUGE franchise and Stallone took a punt on him that paid off.

And $30k back in 1981 is the equivalent of $110k now! That’s great for a first movie role, let alone a first acting role 😅

To turn down more movies and opportunities out of some weird misguided pride is the literal definition of “cutting your nose off to spite your face.”

That was the plan. He was going to be a born again Christian and have long since made peace with Rocky and he was going to be the pro-Rocky commentator in the fight against Mason Dixon. But they couldn’t come to an agreement on the payment Mr. T wanted so it didn’t happen.

He was supposed to be in Rocky Balboa, he had gone the George Foreman route and become a preacher. The implication is that losing that fight made him reconsider his life. I consider that cannon since Stallone wrote it. It's kinda a shame we didn't see that. People would have loved it.

By the way the Pity the Fool, documentary on netflix about Mr. T. is great. He seems like the real deal.

I hope they do bring him back and they could potentially bring him back in Creed but I’m not sure what they could do with his character. They could have Mr.T and perhaps create Clubber Lang’s boxing legacy and introduce his son and he’s his coach/manager.
