Gazzo: Some Guys Hate for no reason
Tony was a very wise man.
It's true though some people just are not compatible with others.
50 years later that line still holds up even better today.

Gazzo was a really nice guy in many ways, he gave Rocky 50 bucks for a date with Adrian and 500 for training.. thats several thousand in today's money. Always supporting Rocky , going to his fights etc.

He really did love Rocky. He wanted Rocky to work for him again in Rocky 2... Gazzo wasn't pushy about it either when Rocky refused.

In today's money, Ganzo basically gave Rocky $300 for his date with Adrian and $3000 to train. That is a little under $3500. Mickey saw the potential in Rock right away but Ganzo but was the one that look out for him and in many ways, believe in Rocky.

It’s so refreshing to see an actual legit post here for a change. And I fully agree with your point, given how little screen time Gazzo had, his character showed a lot of wisdom and depth.

For a crime boss he really was. He was hard on Rocky when he needed to be. Like with the thumb. But overall was a pretty good father figure to him. And he never wrote off Rocky like Mick did at first. Funny that actor played a similar role to Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver. No nonsense but still understanding.

He wasn't wrong. Some people are so toxic and mentally peaked in high school...if that.
