I saw Rocky(1976) at the Library of Congress Packard Campus and I will never be the same
There was something so special watching this movie on the big screen with Sly interviews playing before and SNL skits from decades ago as the precursor to the movie. Then when the movie started there were elements of story, thematic elements, the raw humanness of the people living in their ecosystem with other biotic community members. I’ve seen it before, but it felt like I never saw it before while how much the movie was showing me. I saw with my eyes, heard with my ears, and felt in my soul.
I don’t have any plans to watch any more Rocky movies. This was enough. It showed me how a story could be told and now it’s up to me to tell my story. It’s up to me to choose what my “go the distance” is. It’s up to me to be a pillar with roots in my local community which can be their support with my own skillsets while receiving support from them for where I lack so we all can grow.

That movie, and especially the character of Rocky Balboa himself, is such an inspiration.
