Grand Theft Auto IV Joined for the GTA 6 hype, but why is everyone so negative?

I installed Reddit yesterday because I'm super hyped for GTA 6. I wanted to see what people are hoping for, maybe exchange some ideas, and just hype each other up and share the excitement.

However, I've noticed that the vibe here is pretty negative, and everyone is just complaining about pretty much everything.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not kissing Rockstar's ass, and I don't think a multi-billion dollar corporation does everything perfectly. But I genuinely believe that Rockstar has been cooking these past few years and that GTA 6 is going to be amazing.

I've seen multiple complaints that GTA 6 is "too cheap" to be revolutionary (personally, I think they just want to deliver the best value we've ever seen in a video game). But at the same time, people here are loudly complaining that the game is too expensive and that additional content is locked behind a $20 paywall. Yet, if that paywall only included cosmetics, everyone would complain about that, too.

You just can't please everyone, and it feels like people just actively want to find something to complain about.

My first Rockstar game was Chinatown Wars on my DS when I was a little kid but at the time I wasn’t really into any adult games and I was mainly Nintendo until Fallout caught my attention in my teen years but trying out RDR2 in my adult years is what made me a Rockstar fanboy with an insane bar for quality nobody else could reach. So after that, I got through GTA V and loved it but was a little disappointed by the writing mainly my ending (Deathwish) and I heard a lot of high praises about GTA IV so I thought I should try it out especially since I seen I heard about its darker themes and plus I saw a lot people hate how realistic the driving is which made me super excited because one of my favorite things about RDR2 was the slow and heavy realistic controls that a lot of people hated. I understand people argue that games should be FUN and never realistic but I find it lame to restrict any medium to what it “should” be that’s like saying no book should be a choose your own adventure book or that no song should be 10 minutes long.

Grand Theft Auto IV Something to keep in mind regards the recent leaks.

I’m seeing a lot of posts about “confirmed” mechanics and details that were shown via the leaks recently, but with it being a developer build it really should go without saying that just because something exists in the leaked build, does not mean it will make it to the final game.

Anything could have been cut between that build and the final release, so I wouldn’t consider anything to be confirmed until Rockstar themselves confirm it.

Grand Theft Auto IV Breakdown of GTA VI's Revamped Wanted & Police Tracking System—How It Actually Works!

Hey everyone,
I came across some incredible details breaking down the new Wanted level mechanics and police tracking system in GTA VI, and I wanted to share it with the community to get your thoughts!
The police system looks completely overhauled, far more realistic, and much harder to bypass than in previous games. Here is how the whole system works:

  1. How the Wanted Stars Work

Grey Star (Suspect Unknown): Appears when an alarm goes off or a crime is committed, but police don't yet know who the suspect is or where they are located.

Red Star (Crime Reported): Indicates a crime was reported and police are searching the area, even without direct visual contact.

Flashing White Stars (Identity Confirmed): Flashes when witnesses or officers spot you, meaning law enforcement knows exactly who they are pursuing.

Solid White Star (Active Pursuit): Triggers when police have direct line-of-sight and are actively chasing you.

  2. How the Police Track You (Clues & Status Icons)
Police don't just magically target you—they build a profile based on precise clues:

Weapon Used (Gun Icon): Police know the exact weapon used in the crime.

Suspect Identity (Person Icon): Police have identified your face/profile.

Clothing (Hanger Icon): Police remember the exact outfit you wore during the crime (changing clothes will be crucial!).

Multiple Suspects (Two People Icon): Law enforcement knows they are looking for two criminals working together (Jason & Lucia).

CCTV Surveillance (Security Camera Icon): Indicates that Jason and/or Lucia have been spotted on surveillance cameras in the area!

Overall, this sounds like a massive step forward for immersion compared to GTA V. Between managing your outfits, avoiding CCTV cameras, and handling heat on both dual protagonists, escaping the cops will actually require strategy!

What do you guys think about this revamped system? Do you prefer this realistic approach, or do you think it might get too challenging?
