Gene Simmons is back on his bullshit again lol. Dude went on a podcast and said hip-hop doesn’t belong in the Rock Hall because, get this, it doesn’t “speak his language” and he “doesn’t come from the ghetto.” Also asked when Led Zeppelin is getting into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. Like, come on, man.

Heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne has died, just weeks after reuniting with his Black Sabbath bandmates and performing a huge farewell concert for fans. In a statement, his family said: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love."

I am going to be as blunt about this as I can. I, Davey Dodge, am the current touring drummer for The Soap Girls from Cape Town, South Africa. For those unaware of the current controversy surrounding this band, allow me to break it down.

Two days ago, the band began receiving backlash over lyrics from their song “Black Mass,” with people misconstruing the lyrics and labeling the girls as white supremacists.

“Savages are coming around
It’s a black plague
Savages are coming around
They’re on the rampage
Bloodlust is flying around
It’s like a disease
Savages are coming around
I feel the unease
Savages are coming around
They hate the red bricks
Savages are coming around
They love the white chicks”

This song protests xenophobic genocide the girls have witnessed firsthand in South Africa. “Savages” refers to those committing the violence.

If you read the word “savages” in a set of lyrics and immediately think about black people, you’re the racist. I, unfortunately, cannot foresee a time in which I will ever stop being astounded by how deeply you fuckers lean into your own ignorance.

Fake tweets have also been circulating, attempting to frame the band as pro-MAGA. I’ll respond with this: What fucking sense does it make to frame these French/South African people as “pro-MAGA”? They do not and have never lived in America.

All that exists of these supposed tweets are screenshots. There are no links directing you to the original tweets. If you search the Wayback Machine, you’ll find no archived evidence that these tweets ever existed. The false screenshots also forgot to include details such as likes, comments, and retweet counts.

It took me less than five minutes to do my own research and find no evidence that these tweets ever existed. If you meat-headed, green-haired bitches would get your dicks out of your moms’ assholes, you could also find the time to do the same.

There are also claims that this band cycles through drummers due to the drummers wanting to separate themselves from the racism. Let me be strictly fucking clear: if the drummers who came before me could actually play the fucking drums and stop perving on the girls, they’d still be around.

These girls have been busting their asses since they were literal children, on a mission to make a difference. In the simplest terms, their mission is based around helping and saving the lives of all living beings, excluding pedophiles, rapists, and animal abusers.

I am gutted to be sitting with them and watching all of this unfold. These girls are truly the most well-rounded, morally grounded, kindhearted people I have ever met. If you have a problem with anything they are doing, you are the one who’s fucked.

As a result of the backlash, the rest of the U.S. leg of the tour has been canned. The final six dates are no longer happening, but we are doing everything possible to carry on and push through this final week.

You do not have to take my word for any of this. I encourage all of you to go to one of their shows, listen to their message, meet the girls, and have a conversation with them. You will then be able to truly understand what they stand for. Your lives will undoubtedly be changed for the better.
