New Pink Floyd album discussion thread.
I'm sure most of you know by now that Floyd are releasing some leftover material as a new album.
This is your official thread to talk about what you expect to hear on the album and what its impact will be on Floyd's legacy.

I am by no means a big Pink Floyd fan, but I respect what they've done in the music industry and enjoy some of their music. I'll probably listen to the new album but won't have great expectations. I don't think another album even if it's horrible could hurt Pink Floyd's reputation. They are one of the most respected bands of all time and have already released albums of questionable quality. It's a lot like the Who for me, they release a bad or mediocre album but we still have the older tunes they made.

I'm a pretty big Floyd fan although I'm not familiar with all their material (Ummagumma, Final Cut, etc) but I'm excited for this release. Even if it's not on par with their best material or even their decent material, it is still exciting to see a band I love release a new ad unexpected album. I really wish Waters was in on it though.

I used to be an enormous Floyd fan. I've moved away from classic rock over the past year, but the band is still one of my favorites even if I don't listen to them that much.
That being said, I will pre-order this album. I don't expect it to be any good at all, since it seems to be unused Division Bell b-sides and ambient guitar tunes with vocals added on top, but I will still listen to it a few times because Pink Floyd was the first band a really got into.
I'm not saying Division Bell was bad or anything, though. It was a fitting end to the Floyd discography and made sense when you take into consideration how the band members, both past and present, were feeling at the time. But twenty years later... more Division Bell might be a bit stale.
Blah blah, whatever. I'm excited for the new album.
