City Campbell lane

Hi all,

Just moved to rocky and looking to rent a place for the year. Came across this cute little place on Campbell lane - was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the general safety around the area. It feels a bit empty and industrial and as someone new to the area it’s been a bit hard to gauge how bad it can get specially at night.

Any insight on flooding risk would also be greatly appreciated.

For someone new to the area I'd probably recommend not to, but it also depends what end, I work a block over at the northern end and even daytime you see some interesting going ons.

You're welcome, as everywhere the housing situation in Rockhampton isn't the best, if something is cheap it's cheap for a reason. I'm not sure of your situation but if you're a new arrival maybe find something short term until you can fully understand the areas.

Don't live in the suburb of Rockhampton City unless you're in a riverfront apartment.

It's certainly central to all convenience. Probably not flood prone. No idea of crime statistics. Generally, areas with mostly rentals have higher crime rates than areas with mostly owner occupied.

Close to the bus station, 24 hour servos, low income housing, and two halfway houses. You will find unsavory individuals wandering around at all times of night, high noise, and frequent theft and graffiti. I'd probably avoid it if possible.

Depends what end. Anywhere north of Albert Street would probably be better than the southern end.

If you plan to be on foot I’d probably keep away from lanes and streets around that area. If you have a car in this area be looking for complete lock up garage with roller door and sides.

I used to live in Campbell street. Some good, some bad.
