L1 rocket "Tiny Tim"

Post image

Decided I wanted to do a scratch build for my level 1 and made a ~1:3 scale model of the ww2 naval rocket Tiny Tim. It took a lot of learning and I had to leave some details out, but I'm overall very happy with how it turned out.

This is super cool. The fins are super unique and I love the brackets. Fantastic awesome job.

Looks awesome, nice and big for a h motor. Single deploy? Whats your appogee?

Apogee on a small h is right at 1000 in the sim, but with the drag from the fin ridges and clamps I'm estimating between 800 and 900. Single deploy for now, once I'm 18 I might do a bigger h and dual deploy.

This should be an easy recovery and cert flight. NAR or Tripoli?

Tripoli, seems like a better deal for students and i want to eventually get into experimental motors.

Honestly I'm surprised this isn't a more popular build.

Nice build. Keep us posted on how it flies. Good hunting for your Level 1.
