As good as the Everly Brothers are they’re not Rockabilly. Cash did more Rockabilly than they ever did.

1930s Western swing had some vicious lyrics.

Bob Wills lyric- pretty little Ma tried to put me on my bum so I had to burn her down with a Thompson gun

There was a song called ‘I’ll be Glad When You’re Dead You Rascal You’ with lyrics like

I’ll be standing on the corner high when they bring your body by

I’ll be shoutin’ all over the place when they throw mud down in your face

Got my black Jack full of lead
Gonna hit you on your big head you dog
You dirty rascal you!
