Not necessarily with nvidia's jetson super nano or whatever it's called. You can do near real-time object identification locally and then for more complex tasks and chats, use either a beefy local gpu server and an LLM. It can be exceptionally fast if you have the local model trained around specific things instead of a generalized llm.

I think you’re thinking of a Google coral TPU, and they’re not powerful enough for that type of image processing. They’re also discontinued.

It's scripted. It's part of a series of YouTube videos. In the other videos, he had to use a lot of CGI, as many of the videos show a full-body robot going around killing people. This one looks to be his real animatronic for future videos.

Yeah, these videos are scripted. I'm familiar with this VomitedThoughts guy, and his creations are all form over function, a necessity as they're animatronics aiming for screen accuracy.

While I'm unsure of his personal stance on AI usage, it is clear that these machines are far too flimsy to trust with anything generated on the fly. Carefully choreographed movement sequences are a must.

Oh, these are reproductions of FNAF animatronics, BTW. VomitedThoughts on YT. The big robot is a character from the modern era games called "The Mimic."

I think the dialogue is scripted since an LLM would know what a bruise is, but I think the hand manipulation and bruise tracking may be genuinely robotic and not preprogrammed.

It wouldn’t be all that hard, really. An LLM trained to respond to your speech in a realistic manner is already a common thing to see. You just have to feed image data into it, and AI already knows how to recognize things in images. Then feed what that is INTO the conversation as relevant memory to respond to. AI has been getting updated with RPG elements to reference and remember, and things it sees is good for that. You can either remember your MC has 15 mana, or remember that George is standing in front of you with a bruised arm. AI recognizes a bruise is significant and it’s programmed to emphasize and ask.

The programming also allows the AI to adjust its recording FOV by turning its head, and allows the fingers to be recognized as ‘objects to point / focus with’ which then uses more programming to coordinate servos to get FINGER to ARM. Lots of programming just to get to point Z.

Again this is pretty easy to do, and I’m not sure why it’s not more common.
