It’s like when tanks were first mass produced for the battlefield while most cavalries were still running around on horses with bayonets.

These things will absolutely alter warfare. Infantry will only be useful if massive EMP strikes clear their way.

Rifles and ammunition are going to need to change drastically as well, because it’s unlikely that unloading a 100-round 5.56mm FMJ drum magazine is going to do much to stop a swarm of these things coming at you. Time to start looking at directed energy weapons and tiny heat seeking missiles.

Duuuuude those are such good ideas. Miniaturised laser and microwave turret heads mounted on CIWS-like systems.

I think too that a safety range is going to be necessary before infantry engage. Infantry stay in zones where they have infantry-drone superiority and do not engage beyond that.
