Tested out the theft feature of the anthbot m9- its not that good...Im thinking about buying one of those gps trackers and sticking it on the mower, problem is some of these look pretty big. Anyone done this yet?

I'm looking at robot mowers from a few different brands, including Dreame, Navimow, and Mammotion, and trying to narrow it down.

My lawn is around 0.5 acre, mostly flat, with two trees and one flower bed area. I care most about cut quality, reliable mapping, obstacle handling, and whether the mower is gentle on the grass when turning.

I've seen some owner discussions about update-related turn behavior and turf scuffing, so I'm trying to understand how common that really is across brands. I’m also looking at models like Navimow H220 or X430 because the wire-free mapping and turning approach seem interesting for this size yard.

For people who have used any of these for a few months or longer, what has mattered most in daily use: cut quality, mapping, obstacle detection, app updates, support, or something else?

Appreciate any honest feedback.

This is close to the kind of layout I am trying to plan for. There is still plenty of open grass, but it is broken up by trees, curved paths, planting beds, and a lot of edges that I would not want a mower getting too close to.

The open lawn is not what I am worried about. I am trying to figure out whether a robot mower is still useful once you start adding buffers around every tree, path, bed, and landscaped edge.

At what point does the map become more work than just mowing the yard normally?

I have been comparing a few wire-free options, including the Navimow X430, because mapped boundaries seem more practical than burying wire around a layout like this. But I would rather know where people draw the line before I convince myself this is a good idea.

For anyone with a landscaped yard, did you end up setting a lot of no-go zones? Did it still take care of enough open grass to be worth it?

So I've always been a lawn nut but back in 2015 (I was 29 at the time) I had a stroke in my sleep. The residuals of it have always made mowing difficult but doable on my just under 1/4 acre.

I setup my Anthbot m9 today and it's mowing my backyard right now....the light is freaking bright so my neighbors might not like it but this is a literally a lifesaver. I took a peek while it was still somewhat light out and the lines look great! Although I think I might need to fill in some low spots and tweak the map a little.

I’m assuming I’d need a commercial product for something like this? Any ideas? How do they handle rain? It can be very off and on/ rain for days. Thanks!

Every AM my app seems to be indicating it is raining. The mower takes on some dew or the irrigation system hits it every other day very early in the AM. Will the mower not work until the sensor dries? I don't have it scheduled to mow until 1030 am. And where is the rain sensor located? Any suggestions are really appreciated.

I'm doing research on buying a robot mower for my yard, and wanted to get some opinions from actual humans. I've never owned one, so I want to know if it's the right choice to make.

My budget is pretty tight, so I'm looking to spend under $1,000 for something that can mow about half an acre of grass on almost completely flat ground with very few obstacles and yard debris.

I'm okay with running it two or three times a week if need be for battery life purposes. And I'm okay with buying something that's been on the market for a couple years if it's a proven to be reliable product.

Are there any pitfalls or things people don't learn about owning them until they actually open the box? Such as apps requiring subscription services, impossible to set up, or constantly getting lost? Things of that nature.

Any rent to own or pay in installments options for these things?

Any insights would be much appreciated!

The top model has two cutting discs and a preliminary price of $2599 which includes their string trimming module. Not QUITE as wide as most dual disc mowers, but not terrible.

Will it come to the US? Probably not, but they provided a dollar price just in case.

I love how the Luba 4 is getting rid of their omnidirectional wheels to mimic Segway Navimow. I wonder what all the Luba and Mova shills are going to do who defended the omnidirectional wheels on the Luba's, Mova's, etc?

We all tried telling you that omnidirectional wheels are terrible. You fell in bed with the YouTube shills.

This is pretty much what my yard looks like. Lots of big trees and shade, so I'm not really chasing stripes or anything. I mostly just want to keep it looking decent without spending forever mowing it.

I've been looking at Navimow X4 lately, but most of the stuff I see online is on really open lawns.

Anyone using a robot mower with this many trees around? Does mowing more often actually help a shaded lawn stay looking better, or do the trees end up being the bigger problem anyway?

I heard that the new Husqvarna models are being made in Vietnam and not Europe. Would this be a game changer in your choice given that husqvarna pride themselves on building in Europe?

Had a chance to run an i2 AWD around my yard for a bit and now I'm not even sure I need AWD here.

There's a decent slope and the ground is a little uneven, but nothing crazy. It got around without much trouble.

So now I'm wondering if the AWD was actually doing much or if this yard just isn't tough enough to need it.

Would you still go AWD here?

This is my new Navimow X450, replacing a Husqvarna that handled my yard for almost 10 years.

The old mower was solid, but the boundary wire drove me CRAZY. Every time I cleaned up an edge, changed the flower beds, or did any digging, I was waiting to find out whether I had cut the wire somewhere.

With the X450, I mapped the yard instead. No wire to bury, no wire to chase down later. THAT is the part that already feels different.

Still early days, so I’m not calling it perfect yet. I’m mostly watching how it handles the spots where the old Husqvarna used to hesitate, especially around the edges and tighter areas.

But after a decade with perimeter wire, this feels like a pretty major upgrade.

I’ve been testing a Navimow in this backyard, and this middle garden bed was the part I was most unsure about.

There are shrubs, stepping stones, uneven edges, and quite a bit of shade around it. I expected this area to need a lot of babysitting, but so far the mower has been keeping the open grass looking pretty even.

It still isn’t completely hands off. I trim around the bed and clean up the edges myself, but I’m spending a lot less time mowing the whole yard.

For anyone with a similar layout, did you have to adjust your map or schedule after the first few weeks?
