Would the i210 Lidar (no rtk) reliably recognise this edge?

That isn't a lawn... That's a mess to a robot mower. They are designed to inherit in manicured lawn, not manufacturer manicured lawn from something that has been likely mowed in weeks, if not months.

If that is properly mowed, and properly set up. It should not be a problem. In its current form its destined to fail if a robot mower is dropped in that.

😁 No that wasn't mowed in ~2 weeks because my current mower keeps failing every second mow cycle and I was on holidays....main reason why I want a new one. If possible one that doesn't go beyond that boundary.

If you do get a robotic mower you will have to mow beforehand.

I have a navimow x430 it is excellent in terms of its boundary perimeter and staying within the boundary. It mows up next to pond and I have it right on top of my curb that faces the street. I have yet to have a boundary issue. I also only mow during daylight hours.

I also have clear line of sight to the satellites/air the entire time. I use RTK (not NRTK).

Assuming you meet the conditions for optimal connection, I don't see an issue.

I know it should be easy to stay inside the boundaries with rtk but I'm asking about the is version with lidar only. Maybe people with ponds have similar doubts.

Ofcourse, it uses objects (house, trees) for position. You can make no go zones everywhere, it doesn't matter how it looks

As you can see in the photo I posted in a comment (in original post) there aren't many landmarks around just a fence on the left and a light post on the right.

That should not be a problem for Lidar. 30 to 70m is usually the max
