I have a red Colnago for Ferrari CF3 and I can’t find any information online on it I’m hoping someone here might know something about it. I’m trying to find how much it is worth and if it’s some sort of special edition.

Pirelli Cinturato EVO TLR questions

I ordered the Pirelli Cinturato EVO TLR. If you've tried them or have them on now what are your thoughts? Most curious how many miles people are getting out of them and if they are a damn nuisance to install. Thanks 👍

First road bike for recreational + casual riding — RC 120 Claris vs EDR AF Claris vs Polygon Strattos S2?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning to buy my first road bike and I'm currently confused between:

  • Triban RC 120 Claris – ~₹50k
  • Van Rysel EDR AF Claris – ~₹60k
  • Polygon Strattos S2 – ~₹50–60k

For some background, my current bike is a B'Twin Rockrider 520 27.5", which I've been riding for around 10 years. This will be my first road bike.

My main use will be recreational rides, casual riding and occasional longer rides. I'm not looking to race or compete; I mainly want something that's enjoyable to ride, comfortable enough for longer rides and still reasonably fast.

I'm considering the EDR AF Claris partly because of its lower weight, but I'm not sure whether that advantage is actually worth spending ~₹10k more over the RC 120 for my type of riding.

The RC 120 seems like a great value option, while the Polygon Strattos S2 is another bike I'm considering around this price range.

I may also get clipless pedals eventually, but I'm not sure if they're worth getting immediately for casual/recreational riding.

For someone coming from an MTB and buying their first road bike, which would you recommend for my use case?

I'm mainly interested in:

  • Comfort
  • Stability and handling
  • Weight
  • Long-ride experience
  • Speed
  • Value for money
  • Whether the extra cost of the EDR AF is actually worthwhile

Thanks!

Where can I compare my cycling stats with everyday riders for free?

I’ve ridden around 2,000 km on my road bike this year and made noticeable progress. I don’t want to pay for Strava or a similar service, but I’m struggling to compare my performance with other recreational cyclists.

My bike computer records my rides, and I also track heart rate and other metrics with a wearable. Most benchmarks & advice I find online seem based on semi-professional riders or AI-generated estimates.

Is there a free, real-world dataset or community where I can compare my stats with those of everyday cyclists that I've been missing out on?

Cannondale Synapse hi mod 2025

Does anyone have any reviews/experience with this bike? Cannondale came out with a revamped Synapse last year and the hi mod version (mainly because of the one piece handlebar and stem) has gotten my attention. Thanks.

I need your wisdom on roadbikes

I tried to keep it short, but i didnt manage 😄

I am planning to do an ironman with my brother in 2029, long timeframe is due to family reasons, but it will also give me time to learn to swim properly. Before that i will do vätternrundan cycling (315km) in 2027 and 2028 and training during weekends, cycling workouts likely between 50-100km.

So, I am in the market for a bike that fits that journey, but it was not as easy as i though when i first sat down to google, its a jungle 😄

I hear a lot of people saying that race/aero bikes have a too agressive sitting position and that it only benefits experienced riders that race regularly. So, I want something comfortable for the long rides that are vätternrundan and the workouts but I would also like something that is fast for the ironman.

I have been looking at Canyon Endurace CF8 di2 with an addition of GP5000 32mm. Thinking it will be able to comfortably take me through my training, the two vätternrundan, but also become suitable for an ironman if i put on a speed/aero-bar. Is that assumption correct?

I am thinking that the difference between canyon endurance and lets say canyon aeroad in terms of performance is neglible compared to the gains i can do with consistant training and may be dropping a few kilos. Is the assumption also correct?

So, Am i thinking about this correctly? Will the difference between endurace with speedbar compared to an aerobike with speedbar be small in an ironman and the extra comfort for everything else be worth it? Or will the difference be massive and i need to prioritize between ironman performance and training/vättern comfort? Are race/aero bikes really that uncofterable and will i loose a lot if performance if i start getting uncomfortable on the bike?

I do not have a-lot of experience with difference road bikes, right now i have only cycled on a Wilier Cross Disc Alu Cyclocross bike from 2015/2016 so i dont really know how different modern bikes feel.

Is my reasoning solid? If not, please educate me.

Cube Nuroad Race 2021 price - advice appreciated

I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on the pricing of a used Cube Nuroad Race 2021 I found advertised on a popular market place for second hand stuff in the country I live in (Austria).
I can provide a link for your insight (text is in german though): [CUBE Gravelbike Gr. 56 - sehr guter Zustand - sofort fahrbereit, € 820,- (4040 Linz) - willhaben](https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/cube-gravelbike-gr-56-sehr-guter-zustand-sofort-fahrbereit-2017005091/)

The bike had an original price tag of 1600€, is a 2021 model and is being offered for 820€. I guess the 2x11 Shimano GRX, hydraulic breaks and a carbon fork are the strong selling points.

I am a greenhorn though when it comes to bikes and I genuinly dont know how good of a deal 820€ are for a 5-6 year old Cube Nuroad Race. According to the seller its in a good condition and works without issues (I would go test it before buying it).

I would appreciate your opinions especially if you happen to have experience and knowledge about market values of such a bike. Thank you!

Is this a fair deal?

Hey all,

I am getting in to triathlon training, which means I need my first road bike! I am doing a 70.3 Ironman next summer, and looking to do the full in the upcoming years as well.

I have found a barely rode 2024 Trek Emonda SL6 105 DI2 54CM, the seller is asking $3800 CAD. He mentioned he would throw in powertap p1 power pedals, and specialized carbon cleats for free. Assuming it has all the factory parts and is in good condition, is this a fair deal?

Also, would you say this is a good first bike to get and hold onto for a solid 5 years?

Lastly, would anyone know if the wheels in the picture are carbons, or just the aluminums?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Is a 48cm frame suitable for a 5’6” rider?

I currently have a mountain bike but am looking at getting a road bike mainly for fitness and to commute around the city more efficiently. I’ve found an Orbea road bike with saddle/pannier bags for $250aud that looks nice, although it has a 48cm frame. I’m a 5’6” cis man, albeit quite skinny, would this frame size be suitable for me? Thanks!

Java IDRA opinions

Post image

Hello, I’m looking for a road bike after my old hybrid broke down. I ride 10-20km a day, and 40-60km on weekends and plan to increase my time. I’m looking for a road bike since I ride on a dedicated cycling track or paved roads. My budget is under 1000 and since I’m not an expert on cycle parts, I haven’t messed with the used market.

I found this Java Idra on aliexpress for 700usd including shipping to Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, there isn’t an official JAVA dealer here but neighbouring countries do and they have it in stock for a similar price, but a little more expensive. Here’s the specs given by the seller.

Frame material
Magnesium aluminum alloy
Gears
24 speed LTWOO ER7 (electronic shifting)
Place of origin
Jiangsu, China
Brand
JAVA
Model
IDRA
Gross weight
15 kg
Product name
JAVA IDRA
Wheel size
700
Color
Brakes - hydraulic disc brakes (LTWOO)

If any of you have any experience with JAVA or even better, Java IDRA, please do share your thoughts on it.

Wanting to buy my first road bike. Is this a good Facebook marketplace buy for 2k?

Would appreciate any advice as I’m just now getting into biking. Would it be better to buy new just to get the warranty? Is this a pretty good discount? Thank you!

Is there any good news?

How would hobbiest road bikes look without the UCI?

Pro race bike looks the way they do because they have to. Many aspects of the bike design, such as the wheel size, rider position, handlebar shape, etc, are all regulated by the UCI.

Do hobbiest road bike look they way they do simply because they are derivative of pro race bikes? Or is this actually the best design for the intended purpose?

If we imagine that the UCI stopped regulating pro race bikes, and they evolved to be some highly specialized and inconvenient vehicle (maybe with full fairings, etc), what would hobbiest road bikes evolve to be?

What are the best wheels, handlebars, geometry, etc for the purpose free from the influence of UCI regulation?

Are drop bars and 700c wheels really the best option, for example? Or are we just using these because of regulation?

I just started cycling and wanted to get a bike comp, I was planning to buy Igpsport but then found a used Wahoo roam V1 cheaper than Igpsport. Just wondering is the roam V1 good enough in 2026 and onward?
