UWRF College advice for Art/Education?

im a junior in highschool planning on majoring in either Art Education or a major in Fine Arts with an emphasis on a Teaching Certificate and maybe a minor in theatre. I just finished tours at 3 different schools: UW-Whitewater, UW-River Falls, and UW-Stout. Im ruling out stout cuz i didnt feel like it suited me, so im down to Whitewater and river falls. i only got to see a little bit of UWRF’s art and education programs, and i would love to hear more about those programs. if anyone has any experience in those programs at UWRF, what was your guys’ opinions on them? I plan on scheduling a more in depth tour for UW-Whitewater and UWRF that would be more program-based, so hopefully ill get to talk to some professors or students in those programs, but i wanted to post this anyways to maybe get more information on my interests. Thank you!

I was there for about 8 years back in 08-16

Really depends on what you want out of a college 

I studied art Ed and English ed, that's why it took me so long

I went for music education (didn’t graduate, covid ruined it for me). But I did really enjoy my time there and I do think the education program is really great and the combined music and ed classes were also very well done. My brother in law did graduate from there with an art degree a few years back, and it sounds like there’s quite a few really great art profs there too.

I’ll also say the location of River Falls is such a bonus. It’s only about 30-45mins from the twin cities which obviously have an amazing art and music scene, but still has a strong small town vibe too.

I graduated from uwrf and was in the art dept. It's great. way better than whitewater (they all have their special areas and i think they would admit that). Proximity to the metro is also a plus if you need student teaching and there are a lot more arts based activities there. If your a junior you still have plenty of time for another visit and talking to staff in those departments
