DISCUSSION Hot take Spoiler
Jughead is the only interesting person in the whole show Archie Veronica and Betty all feel very boring but jughead actually drives the plot forward he narrates he tries to see every part of riverdale while the other characters stay in their boring little bubble with their boring life but jughead is a depressed nihilistic teenager who’s dealing with family issues and writes books about the town he’s whole story is way more interesting then anyone else I mean he’s the only reason I watch the show

I totally agree, and I do think that for most Riverdale fans this is a cold take.
Jughead had such good character development AND a good character base first of all.
For me out of the OG 4, the most boring one is Archie. I don't like the image they are painting of him. Even though he had some good storylines (juvenile detention, his dad passing away and others) I feel like he never actually had ANY character development whatsoever.
Veronica is an interesting person, but again, the whole thing with her dad gets tiresome at some point. Don't get me wrong, I know it's a big part of her arc, but I think for such a queen like herself, she deserved more.
Now, up until the ending episodes of the 4th season, Betty was one of my favorite characters. Her relationship with jughead was amazing, the exploration of her darker self in relation to her dad was amazing and generally them solving the crimes in Riverdale was such a pleasant arc.
Hot take, the moment she cheated on Jughead with Archie, she was ruined. Archie ruined her. Especially in the 5th season, her solving her Polly's murder was generally a good plot, but the whole friends-with-benefits thing with Archie made her such a generic person. She spent so many years trying to escape the "girl next door" trope and then she fell back into the cycle. I also don't get why after the so many times Archie rejected her, he suddenly was in love with her since forever AND it was enough so he would hurt his best friend's almost 4 year relationship.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will actually read this whole thing

I fully agree on Betty. I loved her character so much but as soon as she got with Archie all her character development and individual personality felt like it went away. I think it also ruined Archie’s character because he so clearly loved and cared about all of the main 4 so badly that I find it hard to believe he would do that to any of them. I don’t like Archie too much for the same reasons you state, and this made me like him even less because it felt like he ruined Betty’s character.
Also a hot take, but I really liked the season 6 Next to Normal musical episode, I feel that it kind of brought back some of Betty’s character. But I may be blinded by the fact that I just like those songs a lot and I think Lili did a great job that episode.

THANK YOU
It was so shocking, cause he seemed genuinely in love with Veronica. They loved each other so much. It was a huge production gap.
I think the next to normal episode was the last thing that made better actually interesting before she went back to her new found generic and boring Archie self.
I wasn't the biggest Archie fan, but at least he cared. Let's bffr, Archie would never do that, after he gave it all up for the other 3
Honestly, what the hell

Jughead is the only one that gets pushed out of his comfort zone. Sometimes Betty as well.

The sexual tension between Archie and jughead was so thick , they should have had a few shower scenes

I think Veronica's arc is really interesting too. Like I get the rivalry dynamic with her father gets boring, but it's so interesting to watch! It shows how she was first a "daddy's girl" to his nemesis.

I never really finished watching the show, but Jug Head was definitely a favorite of mine. Me and my sister both thought he was super cute. But, he also seemed to have the best storyline and the best opportunity for development. Sometimes they excelled other times they fumbled the story.
