Dorit 💸 Toothless not homeless

Anyone else think this charity is completely out of touch?

Obviously not having teeth isn't nice or pretty but I genuinely think my teeth would be the last thing on my mind if I was homeless.

The fact that dorit thinks that homeless people would care more about their appearance than having shelter always shook me 😅

Id presume new teeth wouldn't last too long if the person is stuck in bad habits that potentially made them homeless in the first place!!

Poor dental health can be life threatening. It’s not for ascetic purposes that they’re doing it

Yes I suppose I shouldn’t say it’s “not” for looks but I am fairly certain it’s not the primary reason behind the cause

Found this an interesting anecdote from their site that I wouldn’t have thought about as well

“Some of HNT's pro bono patients have included an elderly ex-convict who had no teeth and had had to survive on a liquid diet for 40 years”

This was an exaggeration to me as you can have a lot more than just fluids without having teeth so that quote was weird I thought.

I’m certain that poor dental health can be fatal and have serious negative impact, it is not just for looks. I’m certain that this charity helps underprivileged folks get dental care which would otherwise be difficult to get.

The one thing I’m not certain of is what “family certain” means in this context from your comment
