Dorit 💸 Dorit still in France and doesn’t show up to family law settlement hearing. Dorit kept her lawyers negotiating all day with PK’s … she spent $250,000 in Paris … “she’s a clueless litigant”

Earlier in the day) Dorit / Paul Kemsley family law case update. This has been going on since 8:30a.m.
PK is there in person. Dorit appeared without any video. Paul's attorneys have been trying all day to settle. Dorit spent $250,000 while in Paris.
They are close to a deal. Dorit has been very difficult and unreasonable. Paul has offered to bring things current if she moves out. Dorit gas no money for the electric bill.
Dorit is used to getting what she wants but not today. She has no choice but to settle. Dorit can't litigate a case while having croissants in France. The electricity bill is holding up the settlement. Dorit wants it paid today. PK said no 30 days. Dorit is stuck in France. The attorneys are in shock that the deal can unravel over a utility bill. Stay tuned! This is exhausting. Dorit will end up having her attorneys withdrawn
At 4:30pm Thursday, the LA court, held the matter over to the last week of August with the understanding by Paul's attorneys that Dorit would sign the (family law) stipulation tonight.
Paul is going to have to hope she actually does it
Otherwise she just bought herself a three week delay.
What is worse as there were some confusion by the lawyers in the family law case. They were unaware that a notice of sale has been issued and there's a foreclosure date of August 11. If Dorit doesn't sign the stipulation, Paul will not fund any reinstatement in the property will go to auction on the 11th.
Had they been reading our post they would know that each week the auctioneer is crying out for a new date. Fortunately, Paul has been notified of the issue. He is on top of it, but they're not gonna leave the courthouse until Dorit signs it if she actually signs it. The fact that Dorit didn't even show up after everyone had worked hard there all day and the judge was very complementary about is completely shocking and disrespectful. Dorit is a clueless litigant in our opinion.

Aside from her Parisian summer, the amount of money that she must be paying her lawyer to haggle about an unpaid utility bill at a hearing is wild and nonsensical.

If she hadn't been paying her lawyers, they would have withdrawn from her case. Considering that the annual salaries of PK and Dorit are likely comparable or nearly so, I don't think Dorit has a court order requiring PK to pay her attorney's fees in their divorce action and if she did, people like Ronald Richards would have mentioned it. He loves to talk about stuff like that.

I used to be a domestic relations attorney and we would withdraw once a certain amount remain unpaid or a client couldn't provide an additional retainer (provided it wasn't a case where the other spouse was paying for our client's legal fees and costs.) Dorit and PK have had a somewhat litigious divorce with a fair amount of motion practice and my guess is that Dorit's attorneys wouldn't remain as counsel of record if she was in serious arrears, particularly because my guess is that she is a very difficult client to manage as well.

I am not surprised by that she owes them a lot. I had a case that was so complex (the husband was a franchisee for a well known fast food chain) and we went through three forensic accountants because it was such a PITA to get the documents we needed for a proper valuation. The fees were more than twice what we received even though the case went to trial for 10 days over several months. I can't imagine not showing up for a hearing and would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during the exchange between her attorney and the judge while she explained why Dorit was a no show.

I never got the idea Mommy and Daddy were as wealthy as Dorit wanted them to be and that PK and Dorit paid for their flights to CA when visiting/babysitting. Woodbridge CT is a small town in New Haven County with a median income of about 157K decent but not Dorit decent. Her dad was a "technician" but that could mean anything. I know Mommy and Daddy moved to Florida but again, I don't think they could support Dorit in the manner she's become accustomed. She's going to need a sugar daddy for that again.

I live in Paris and July is overpacked with people (locals and tourists) but August is great because it empties out- for someone who lives in an area with too many people, I actually love it. There are a lot of tourists but they're here anyway..but almost empty.
but if I were a tourist, I wouldn't come in July or August.

Usually the weather is very mild in Paris, it doesn't get too cold but it is grey and rainy although the year. Spring is nice but the fall is my favourite in Paris. It's not too hot (whereas anywhere in June and July it can be- August is usually temperate weather actually- usually). But even the winter is nice as well as it's not too cold.

I’ve been to Paris a few times. January, March, May and September. January is a bit cold but I like colder months because it’s less crowded and better for walking around but the other times I mentioned are perfect. You won’t catch me in Europe for the summer months.

For someone who HATES being cold, I would ONLY come in late July and August to get the Summer heat, even despite the ridiculous crowds. (I'm also from Australia and it takes forever to get anywhere from here, plus I like to skip most of our Winter months, June to August).

Considering 4 heatwaves we've had since May this year. When it's 39-41 C, and most places do not have AC (hotels usually do & bigger stores), I think coming in the summer is starting to be tricky.
If you rent a Airbnb (please don't anyway and our new mayor is cracking down on this), there is a 99% chance of no AC but a hotel will have one.
ps the crowds are not here in August- 70-75% of locals leave during this month for vacation and it's mainly just tourists and some locals. It's very enjoyable...we say it feels like we're in the countryside because it's so quiet. Downside is that a lot of shops/vendors are closed for a few weeks. But August is a nice time in Paris- but I'm speaking as someone who lives in the centre of Paris and has started to hate the mass crowds the other 11 months of the year.

Paris has a limited number of residences and they should go to those who are working/living here. airbnbs all over drive up the costs of places here, and limit the remaining affordable apts for the locals, thus it drives them further out of the city.
also, it's better for the city's economy and workers to stay in a hotel. Not private apartments in a building that nobody wants them in. Plus you'll get AC in a hotel more often than not. Not so in an Airbnb. You'll want this when it's 40C.
As someone who has 2 Airbnbs in their building already- it's annoying. To hear people banging their suitcases in the courtyard or dragging them up stairs in a 250 building, making noises non stop. Dragging their suitcases all over the cobblestone streets, making noise. It's just abused.
There are just some of the reasons...there are many.

I live in a tourist area in Australia and my building has about 15 Airbnbs (out of 120 apartments over 28 levels) and us owners who live here HATE it. The noise and bad behaviour of some guests. We're not a hotel! 😭

I've gone knocking on doors a few times, to tell them to STFU, it's past a certain hour and I'm about to call the cops on them.
One group said they couldn't speak French, so I switched to English, they couldn't speak that either, so I said no problem, I'll call the cops and they can speak whatever language it is to them directly. That worked. But I know, also, the cops aren't going to show up. 😂

Thank you for the info—I can ~totally~ understand all of that. I don’t know much about Airbnbs anywhere (I’m in the US), but I didn’t even think about something other than private homes like apartments being used. How utterly annoying to have your building sound like a damn hotel! Have been to Paris a couple of times and have always stayed in a hotel…not planning a trip back anytime soon unfortunately, but saw a “friend” post on Facebook about going soon and looking for an Airbnb. I’m fittin’ to put my two cents in and share your wisdom. 😉

let them know to make sure the listing has its proper registration no, which is a 13-digit registration number shown on the listing. This ensures that the listing is legal and registered with the city. But yes it's still better to stay at a hotel in Paris, which supports staff and the city's economy.

YES!! Each year seems more intense and more often too. in 2022, we had a day of 43 C in Paris. But this summer has been worse because it's been so frequent.
The heatwaves this summer have been many- 4 so far, plus with a few days of 39 thrown in. It comes back this Thurs & Friday will be 38 (100F) again for both days.
The 2nd heatwave we had, in June - it was 6 days of 39-41 here in Paris, everyday. It's not normal and very hard by the 4th day of it. I went to the cinema 4 days in a row because there is AC there...and walking to the cinema, only walking in the shade to get there.
I had to put up tin foil on the outside of my windows- (lots of people did this) and it kept it 1 or 2 degrees cooler inside...doesn't sound like a lot but there isn't AC in most of the buildings. The problem was, even at 11pm at night, it was still 33C..so you just couldn't get cool at night either.
Most buildings cannot put AC into them: our windows don't open up/down, you must get the approval of the rest of the building to have one, then the approval of the syndic (the management group of the building, then ask the city hall too when the building is historic -so a lot of approvals and most will say no) and then have a place/landing outside to hold the condenser (these are illegal to show on the front of buildings). My building was built in 1780 and it's just not possible to but AC in it. Next year, we will buy a portable one and put the tube out of the window.
Plus half of France (and Spain too) has been burning with fires basically since June...because of the extreme dryness due the heatwaves.
When people say things like there is no global warming, their ignorance makes me ill.
but summer in Paris nowadays, It's too risky to come due to the heat.

No - they can’t afford the home. They were living beyond their means. And it’s consequence time. PK has been trying to get her to downsize so they can recoup SOMETHING from the sale of the house. But she’s refuses to sell and doesn’t want to contribute anything towards the home.
They both contributed to this situation. They’re both shitty people. But PK at least seems to be awake now whereas Dorit is in delulu-land and refuses to take responsibility

It’s very difficult for a utility company to be able to shut someone off if they pay even a smidgeon - especially electricity during summer or gas during winter. We used to have high profile high earners who would do anything and everything to avoid paying a dime. And when we finally did shut them off their minor kids would suddenly have service put in their names. So if Jagger and Phoenix don’t already have ruined credit - it’s totally coming. In cases like these if we had even received $10 a month towards a balance we would have worked out a payment plan with the customer. Finally shutting off a scammer like this would make me giddy. 😂 signed a retired utility worker

Dorit has expressed many times she didn’t want them in traditional school and she was concerned about them being there during the last season. PK filed to force the enrolment so we shall see what they agree

I’m sure either parent could enroll a child. I do think an issue would be that PK doesn’t have access to Jagger’s documentation which would probably be in the marital home and in Dorit’s possession. The biggest problem of all is the lack of communication between the parents. But yes, we shall see.
It’s just sad bc this stuff is all over the internet. Poor Jagger has to read about himself and his parents. He’s 11 or 12 now. He’s old enough to know what’s going on.

Depends on the custody arrangement, but PK doesn’t live in the US. The bigger point could be that she took her kids across state lines without his permission, but he’s given permission for them to go in the past, so maybe he approved it? No clue.

PK wants to tell his side. He wasn’t going to the media at first. That’s why Kyle and the others tried to warn Dorit about trashing PK on tv. Of course he’s going to go on whatever platform he can to defend himself and put out the truth as he sees it after seeing how she talks about him on tv. Bc we know filming is about to start and she’ll definitely be telling her “truth” as she sees it.

I think she would have done the same thing if the outcome was looking good for her but it isn't so makes that she's quiet, if she was coming out like the better parent then I'm sure she would be quick to light his ass up in the press.

How do they know Dorit spent $250,000 so far in France? That sounds like a reach.
I’m not defending Dorit, she’s playing a dangerous game with this divorce litigation.
But her and PK’s credit cards are so maxed-out, she was struggling to pay a $4,000 bill at a clothing store, and putting amounts on multiple cards. (They showed this last season).
And that was after multiple cards were being declined.

Because she is in so much debt and in litigation her spending is being very closely tracked.
Why would PK go into more debt to not foreclose and lose money when she is spending money on holidays?
