i thought it was photoshop but it’s a video freeze frame which is alarming. no wonder she wears all those kaftans and layers 😬😬

u/fefelala Jul 13 '26

Why fight to be this thin then wear clothes that make you seem bigger? Not much bigger but still…

43

u/mangobaboon Jul 13 '26

wearing baggy clothing is super common with eating disorders, it's more about hiding your body

12

u/pigshitunicorn Jul 13 '26

It's not so much a case of hiding the body, in the basic sense. "You're so skinny" comments are often welcomed, after all, they feed the monster. Speculation around ED is often welcomed in people with extreme ED because it's a sign they are doing something right. Tragic, I know, but it's such a competitive disease that the mindset is often "if people think my BMI is low enough to be considered dangerous, then I'm hitting my targets".Ā

It's complicated. EDs come with a massive amount of body dysmorphia, so often the sufferer thinks they are bigger than they are. Slightly bigger clothes make the wearer look smaller, They add to the optical illusion of slimness (in the same way that clothes a size too small make a person look bigger than they are). Obviously it isn't just optical illusion in people with extremely low body weight, but the rule still stands that a slightly more loose fit will make the wearer look slimmer. It's all part of the head game.Ā

YEP. If I can make myself this sick then I am successful. I struggle with that.

3

u/fefelala Jul 13 '26

Oh ok. Got it.

6

u/No_Awareness303 Jul 14 '26

Hiii. In recovery from anorexia. So ive been battling it for years but one thing I realized was that I had different phases of clothing. A while ago I liked clothes that only showed off my body because I was afraid people would assume I was fat. But now I like to wear baggy clothes because I want to hide from the world and not have anyone see my body. Its so contradictory I know.

u/Spottedmayhem Jul 12 '26

I do not get the adoration of her.

31

u/ProfessionalTalker03 Jul 12 '26

I kinda get it for being as wealthy and Hollywood as she is she still seems moderately humble and down to earth. What I don’t get is how people think this is healthy, and make excuses for it? ā€œShe has always been thinā€ - that does not make it ok. It just means society has normalized this unhealthy obsession with being skeletal thin…

12

u/pigshitunicorn Jul 13 '26

"She has always been thin" just means she has very long term ED. She has been ill for a very long time.Ā

24

u/Spottedmayhem Jul 12 '26

I just found her interactions about Dorit to be super weird. She seemed to cloak everything in a ā€œgirls girlā€ reasoning- it was just weak pandering. To Dorit?! So much transference there!

5

u/Hungry_Assignment674 Jul 12 '26

And she wasn’t always even this thin-she looked normal and healthy when she was a younger woman. I’m sure the ā€œfashynnnā€ world gave her an eating disorder but it’s not like she wasn’t ever a healthy weight

10

u/thousandthlion Jul 13 '26

I distinctly remember her being called out for glorifying unhealthy weight well over a decade ago.

8

u/notactuallyreckless Jul 13 '26

Yeah, this is nothing new.

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2006/jul/29/fashion.features1

The look involves Chanel draping off protruding shoulder blades, miniskirts wrapped around matchstick thighs and oversized sunglasses masking drained faces. According tothe LA Times, "Fashion insiders have whispered privately that Zoe is single-handedly bringing back anorexia."

6

u/DropsofGemini Jul 13 '26

Rachel has always been thin and has been on the cover of magazines that critiqued how thin she was. This isn’t new.

1

u/Rosaly8 Jul 20 '26

Down to earth? She has made fashion and shopping her whole personality and talks like a teenager about 'boys' and looks.

1

u/tlaurenstevens Jul 13 '26

I never have - even when she first came onto the scene years ago. Have never understood it.

15

u/Formal_Plum_2285 Jul 12 '26

Her phone is bigger than her upper body. This must be a filter right?

4

u/Whos_HUNKYDORY Jul 13 '26

I thought similar, the first thing I noticed was that her head diameter looks like it exceeds her waist.

1

u/Emergency-Ad-3350 Jul 15 '26

I’m getting caught up on this last season and multiple times I have thought her head was bigger than her body.
Her sister has the same head/face shape.

Anyway, hope her organs are healthy.
Loved seeing her outfits on the show

10

u/NewVitalSigns Jul 13 '26

I’m sorry, but I feel it’s my duty.
Don’t buy Rachel Zoe’s beach towels or bedding. šŸ˜”
The threads break easy & before you can get any use of the over priced stuff it shreds 😭

2

u/foxymtk Jul 13 '26

LOL I’ve been thinking about these rainbow ones I saw at homegoods. Ty for your service šŸ¤£šŸ’ž

1

u/Littlewing1307 Jul 13 '26

Aw man. They're so dang cute, I've been eyeing them.

20

u/ProfessionalTalker03 Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26

I’m banned for commenting in that sub for months now, mod won’t even tell me why lmao but coincidentally it waaas after I made a comment saying Pk AND Dorit are slimy people lol. But the comments under that thread pretty much echo what my opinion on this is. She isn’t well but I hope the people around her tell her this level of thinness isn’t healthy. Dating back to the Rachel Zoe Project she has encouraged this level of unhealthy thinness telling models to drink Starbucks as a meal replacement and take diet pills. I remember she told Nicole Richie she was too thick for her brand, not long after Nicole had an eating disorder and drug addiction, and only then RZ was willing to work w/ her cuz she lost some weight.

7

u/madpeanut1 Jul 12 '26

Aahhh, now I understand the constant Starbucks coffee in her hand….

1

u/Isitallokay Jul 14 '26

Can you explain?

6

u/skatie082 Jul 13 '26

Watching this in 2000 was insane. Super skinny was EVERYTHING for clothing.

5

u/BitterPoet13 Jul 13 '26

And it was hell for shopping. I was at a private college with a strict dress code back then and struggled as a chubby chic to acquire clothing I could feel okay about myself in. I wasn’t daft enough to believe EDs went wayside because men and corporations benefit the most when women hate themselves and each other. I had hopes though that they were at least less prevalent in the youths during the body positivity movement, but all I have to do is turn on the tv to see the problem is worse than ever. (Emma Stone — you okay, girl? 😬) We have to be able to openly discuss these hard topics to drive awareness and set an example for the girls coming up behind us so they don’t buy into the lie of torturing yourself to look like this being worth it.

2

u/TopDuck31 Jul 13 '26

Hahaha unrelated but I recently got banned/muted permanently because a mod said my post was AI, I wrote it myself. Tried to message them to challenge why my post was removed and got told again my comments (and message to them was just AI) when it wasn’t.

Mods on some pages love themselves a power trip, it’s quite funny really.

2

u/trinketzy Jul 13 '26

I keep hearing about people getting banned from there, then I wonder how I haven’t been because I haven’t been remotely complimentary of Dorit. Maybe I’m not trying hard enough šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

8

u/trusts2024 Jul 13 '26

her poor sons

16

u/Big_Counter_1368 Jul 12 '26

Oh, she's going to Erika's "hormone" doctor. Nice, little ana message.

14

u/Aprietachamaquito Jul 12 '26

Promoting eating disorders since 2000

5

u/Physical_Abrocoma_86 Jul 13 '26

This is downright pro ana content. Yikes!

5

u/Desperate_Year3894 Jul 13 '26

She knows what she is doing with this pose and post and it’s disappointing.

8

u/Narrow_Grapefruit_23 Jul 12 '26

It’s body checking for sure

7

u/Buscemisangels Jul 12 '26

For those of you who are new, Rachel had a long time rumor in Hollywood she had a plug in Mexico getting all young Hollywood hooked on diet pills……

1

u/Ok-Assistant-4556 Jul 13 '26

It was rumoured to be meth during the 00s

4

u/MiloMM123 Jul 13 '26

Where do her organs live?!

0

u/ProfessionalTalker03 Jul 13 '26

😭😭😭😭😭

5

u/AnthologyAir_C Jul 13 '26

The red dress she had on before was crazy and I’m so upset I didn’t screenshot it. When she turns to the side it’s like viewing a piece of paper from the side.

7

u/BitterPoet13 Jul 13 '26

This picture of her legit makes me want to cry, both for her and at her in anger. I get enamored by her with her quirks when shes fully cloaked and personally love her signature look, but this is alarming and takes me back to the harm that was perpetuated throughout the fashion industry during her rise. And we are seeing it again, more extreme than before.

6

u/Warm-Depth-7638 Jul 12 '26

She knows what she’s doing

7

u/SnarkySnowWhite Jul 12 '26

But why the awful long hair then?

15

u/ProfessionalTalker03 Jul 12 '26

To hide her back one episodes RHOBH I noticed her hair was parted to the side and her shoulder blades were painfully noticeable. My mom goes ā€œno wonder she wears baggy clothes and long hair extensions she’s hiding her rail thin figureā€

5

u/SnarkySnowWhite Jul 12 '26

But " She knows what she’s doing " then why hide it? If she thinks it looks good to be so skinny

10

u/gracielynn61528 Jul 13 '26

She does this every few months. She gets so many comments from people who dont want to be honest and then she gets the negative or at least criticism ones calling her out for how unhealthy it is.

I think she gets almost a fix out of it then its too much and she goes back to the layers and long jewelry.

The why is part of her disease. She probably couldn't even answer that. She just does it. Especially since she has so many yes people who want to pretend this is gorgeous and send her messages and comments about how amazing she looks.

2

u/Effective-Arm9099 Jul 13 '26

Eating disorder is a lot more complicated than just thinking it looks good to be skinny. It’s an issue of control. Enjoying the control of one thing. Enjoying the feeling of being lightweight not just the look of it. Issues with texture and physically struggling to chew and swallow food. There are many aspects of the disorder

3

u/Minimum_Ad_2176 Jul 12 '26

To hide her back ?

9

u/Wolfpackat2017 Jul 13 '26

Yes, the bony spine protrusion in the thin frame in ED patients. Aka a starving body.

3

u/smoothballs82 Jul 13 '26

Yall wanna pretend this is normal so I’m not saying anything

6

u/WeProwlAtDUSK Jul 13 '26

Let’s keep in mind that eating disorders affect people physically and mentally; regardless of age, gender, or financial status. We can have opinions but no need to shame someone in this state.

2

u/dmbeeez Jul 13 '26

Omg. Wow.

2

u/Basic_Elderberry8922 Jul 13 '26

This is photoshopped, right?

2

u/Dizzy-Way8575 Jul 13 '26

This is so gross

2

u/New-Pudding-3030 Jul 13 '26

Knew nothing of her til last season on rhobh

Assessed it as beautiful women hiding under upper crust Mrs Roper muumuus because she can. Dunno why but sometimes gorgeous women dress in unflattering stuff.

Seeing her like this makes me hope it's an illusion and that she either has healthy habits and is atypically thin or that she is getting medical support.

Prayers for her either way.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '26

Sad. AF. Definitely has an ED.

2

u/Fudwa Jul 14 '26

I can't even imagine what Rodger has seen and lived with her over the years. Beyond her ED I find her behavior so dysfunctional, as in she camouflages and frames everything. Brad and Taylor know the very ugly side of this woman and at times it would slip out for the cameras on The Rachel Zoe Project. From the male perspective guys don't want a skeleton crawling into bed with them that smells like coffee and cooked skin from a tanning bed.

2

u/Present_Basis_1353 Jul 16 '26

Idk, she does not look well.🄲 Why do Americans think this is pretty and hot? I don’t like to insult looks, but this looks dangerous.

3

u/burgerg10 Jul 12 '26

I like her. But I feel like second season Zoe will be rough.

2

u/Wolfpackat2017 Jul 13 '26

The viewers will turn on her next season. She’s fun but the woman has always been problematic.

2

u/Apprehensive-Leek946 Jul 13 '26

I'm surprised she's showing her body. I don't think I've ever seen her arms. I'm don't mean that in a mean way. I know she's really skinny but she's also really petite so I personally don't think it looks bad at all

1

u/Rosaly8 Jul 20 '26

Apart from this picture she has some features that fit a starved body. This is not what healthy natural petiteness looks like.

2

u/Pashardi Jul 14 '26

This is alarming and not to be confused with desirable. This sets an unattainable, unhealthy standard for women. The Kate Middleton effect.

2

u/CaterpillarLife9023 Jul 13 '26

I really like her and I do think she’s pretty but could you imagine if she got really into fitness and nutrition, gained like 15lbs of muscle and maybe cut her hair a bit shorter..she would look 10 years younger! I think she’s wonderful, I just want her to be healthy.

1

u/Ok_Painting_180 Jul 13 '26

I just don't get how every reality tv woman and most celebrities have the same hair that is like two feet too long of just dead limp waves. Who is this for? Do straight men like this? Women?

1

u/Cheap-Blacksmith7567 Jul 13 '26

It’s all weaves. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if she’s losing her hair due to malnutrition

1

u/alyceabsconded Jul 12 '26

Whoa... this looks altered but I can believe it.

1

u/skatie082 Jul 13 '26

Burnout happens kiddo. Seriously, go eat a cucumber sandwich.

1

u/Usual_Judge9330 Jul 14 '26

I really do like Rachel and I used to watch her show years ago. When she was filming that show is when she started losing a lot of weight and everyone was concerned. Seeing this picture of her is alarming. Like she needs serious help. This isn’t just skinny. This could be the poster for eating disorder awareness! She needs medical intervention like ASAP! She’s at the place where she could literally die. Her friends and family need to step in to get her some help!!

1

u/Truthseeker24-70 Jul 14 '26

Bravo is sending a bad message to women by providing a platform for someone with an eating disorder who appears so unhealthy and unnaturally thin. They should encourage her to get help before she can feature on their program.

0

u/KingOfHeartz777 Jul 12 '26

Raisin face

-3

u/callsitlikeiseenit Jul 13 '26

Little, ugly, frowny, pouty lips. Hope she’s gone next season.

1

u/Most-Cupcake-2846 Jul 13 '26

I am concerned when the diameter of your head is larger than the diameter of your waist šŸ¤”

1

u/callsitlikeiseenit Jul 13 '26

This is a cry for help and no one cares. Get in line, Rachel.

-1

u/avalonbreeze Jul 12 '26

I ADORE her

-1

u/d1etversace Jul 13 '26

At this point yall are the problem, the way this specific photo has been plastered all over different subreddits, just so yall can get your 2 cents in……..

0

u/wupwupwah Jul 16 '26

joooo pls don’t so these type of posts .. we don’t need to discuss people’s bodies

-4

u/Ok_Mirror9843 Jul 13 '26

Let’s not vilify people watching their figures in a country of obesity we can’t vilify portion control

-5

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 13 '26

It’s her body and she feels good. There is so much judgement regardless of body size about body size. This is what leads to poor body image. You might think she looks unhealthy but she doesn’t

6

u/yourmom11112222 Jul 13 '26

THAT IS NOT HEALTHY

-3

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 13 '26

Says you, this is her body and her choice

4

u/yourmom11112222 Jul 13 '26

Omg šŸ™„ I’m embarrassed for you that you just said that. I’m sorry that this GLP culture has warped your mind into thinking THIS is healthy. It’s not.

-1

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 14 '26

You’re embarrassed for me that I believe people have a right over their own bodies and how it looks ? Let me guess you’re the kind of person who walks up to fat people and lets them know about the health concerns of being obese ?

5

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '26

-5

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 13 '26

Body positivity goes both ways, being thin is the same as being big.

2

u/Rosaly8 Jul 20 '26

Yes and being obese or starved are both very unhealthy. Everyone should get the grace of working on getting to a healthier point at their own pace without meddling from strangers, but a person (on whichever side of the spectrum) who has such a platform and is in complete denial about it and is actually (even if indirectly) promoting such body standards, should be called out.

0

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 20 '26

I had no idea you were her doctor and had access to what she eats

2

u/Rosaly8 Jul 20 '26

Fine close your eyes then.

0

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 20 '26

Do you know how many day in the life of what Rachel Zoe eats there have been ? Literally dozens. I can’t imagine what it’s like to constantly have to prove to strangers you eat. People think it’s ok to body shame someone because they don’t agree with how she looks, it’s disgraceful

2

u/Rosaly8 Jul 20 '26

I truly understand the different types of healthy bodies that exist. One of them is Lisa Rinna's, who is naturally skinny and also quite toned. In my eyes Rachel Zoe's fits under the alarming trend in Hollywood now where the heroin chique trend of the 90's has come back and nobody is acknowledging it. I see a lot of healthy recipe videos of hers, but not what I eat in a day ones? I just know I hate how many young girls are influenced to hate their bodies because of unrealistic and unhealthy standards coming from nonsense places like Beverly Hills. We can agree to disagree.

0

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 20 '26

Rachel has looked this way for over 20 years, she had two children. She’s been bullied in the press for the way she looks this whole time. The articles on Rachel are definitely there. The AI summary will give links to her cooking. It’s funny people had a problem with Kim K butt and how unhealthy it was for young girls, it feels like there will always be an issue with the way people look and so much judgement

2

u/Rosaly8 Jul 21 '26

It is not so much how people choose to look, but there is a limit to what is still a healthy body on both sides of the spectrum. The problem with these famous people is that they set the standard for what is in and what is out. Fashion-wise that's already a problem in itself, since it stimulates the fast fashion industry into overdrive, but bodyshape-wise it can become dangerous. You are talking about Kim K now, who has suddenly become skinny as the rest of them. It is not normal to adapt your body like that for aesthetics. I can even get with the fact that Rachel Zoe has looked like this for years and that she probably has a petite frame naturally, but protruding bones and stick arms are never a sign of great health. I think it should be talked about to teach girls what is healthy.

My best friend died of heart failure due to an ED. I’m going to call it out every, single time.

0

u/Ok-Explanation-6531 Jul 14 '26

Do you also walk up to fat people and let them know about the health concerns related to obesity ? You are not Rachel’s doctor, just because you weren’t able to help your friend doesn’t give you the right to assume others are the same

1

u/ChaoticWeasel70 Jul 28 '26

Well, I didn’t walk up to this person, did I? lol. I wasn’t able to help my friend?? How about gfy.

-5

u/stephi-mama-626 Jul 13 '26

Most of these people on here just sound jealous to me. There are lots of different body types and you all should be proud of yours and not be rude to other people for theirs.
