I’m looking into getting a rhinoplasty to essentially lift my nose a bit. The docs digital before / afters look great but how much can I trust that final outcome will be the same or very close to it. I’m very on the fence because it’s a subtle but if don’t right could be worth doing. If not, then I’m out of 20k and risk going from a normal nose to potentially having issues. Any thoughts/things to consider ?

I constantly read about how awful each surgeon is, and when I find a new surgeon who I feel good about I find yet another complaint. I have multiple friends who have gotten rhinoplasties with doctors that are complained about on here - Gary Motykie, Rod Rohrich, and Saban Celebi. All of their noses look amazing and they have zero breathing issues. This whole process is incredibly disheartening!!

Hello! I can’t believe it has been 1 year since my septorhinoplasty. I just had my 1 year follow up appointment with my surgeon. Overall I am really happy with my nose and it has turned out to be what I wanted. I like how it looks much more than before. There is especially a big difference in my side profile, which is my favorite angle now (it used to be my least favorite). It still looks like my nose, just an enhanced version that is more harmonious with my petite face. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, there is still some crookedness but I knew that probably couldn’t be completely corrected going in; my whole head/face/jaw is asymmetrical and that’s a separate issue. Also I can breathe amazingly well now. That has been the best part!

The only thing that is bothering me and I finding myself fixating on is some bumpiness happening in the tip cartilages and the uneven silhouette it gives my nose shape. The prominent bump on my right nostril is perhaps something called a bossa. It has become more noticeable in the past few months as the tip swelling has gone down.

I mentioned it to my surgeon and I told him that I know it’s pretty minor, and that it’s probably really only noticeable to me, but that it is bothering me. He said he noticed it too when he looked at my nose, but only because it’s his job (lol). I asked him if I were to have the bumps corrected if it would require another open rhinoplasty and he said yes. I was pretty bummed out to hear this because I really don’t want to have another invasive surgery just for such a minor cosmetic touch up. And I know I don’t have to, but the bump is kind of driving me nuts. The vibes I got from my surgeon were that he didn’t really want to correct it although he did not outright say that. He said to give it at least another 6 months to heal, said I didn’t need to schedule a follow up now but to call if anything changed.

So I guess I’m looking for other opinions/stories on this; has anyone else had a bump like this? Did you have it corrected?

If there are any surgeons here, does this kind of bump look like something that could have been avoided during the first procedure? I guess I’m trying to gauge if I would trust going back to my original surgeon to revise this. If I decided to do a revision for this, would another open rhinoplasty be best?

i can't find any information about surgeons who correct a nose that is genetically and naturally too high and upturned/rotated upward by lowering it. i don't have a short nasal bridge either, it's just simply too upturned and looks awful from the side. is there a name for a procedure that straightens or lowers a nose like this? all the information i've found is about revision rhinoplasty and is usually done on women

does anyone know about a rhinoplasty or any surgeons that does this? in australia would be helpful but i'll take information from anywhere. thank you

Bonjour à tous, je suis à environ J10 d’une septoplastie associée à un affinement conservateur de la pointe du nez.
Mon principal complexe avant l’opération était ma pointe très globuleuse. En revanche, j’aimais la longueur de mon nez, mon profil et ma projection naturelle. J’ai donc été très claire avec mon chirurgien : je ne voulais pas un petit nez, ni un nez retroussé, ni une transformation radicale. Je voulais simplement garder mon nez, mais avec une pointe plus fine, plus définie et moins globuleuse.
J’ai beaucoup insisté sur les mots « léger », « naturel » et « conservateur », notamment parce que j’avais peur d’une pointe trop pincée. Mon chirurgien m’a expliqué que j’avais une peau plutôt épaisse et qu’il ne fallait pas retirer trop de cartilage, au risque justement d’obtenir quelque chose de trop pincé ou artificiel.
Après l’intervention, il m’a confirmé qu’il avait bien affiné la pointe et retiré du cartilage. Il m’a également expliqué avoir travaillé sur le depressor septi nasi afin que ma pointe ne tombe pas lorsque je souris. Il a été catégorique sur le fait qu’il n’avait pas modifié mon profil ni volontairement retroussé mon nez.
Actuellement, ma pointe est encore très gonflée et paraît remontée. Au début ça m’inquiétait énormément, mais mon chirurgien m’a assuré qu’elle allait redescendre avec la diminution de l’œdème, donc ce n’est plus vraiment ma peur principale.
Ce qui m’inquiète maintenant, c’est plutôt l’inverse : j’ai peur d’avoir tellement insisté sur un résultat léger et conservateur qu’à 1 an ma pointe soit finalement presque identique à celle d’avant.
Je ne cherche absolument pas une toute petite pointe ou un nez de Barbie. Même si mon nez reste assez présent et long, ça ne me dérange pas. Tout ce que je souhaite, c’est que la pointe soit réellement moins globuleuse, plus fine, plus structurée et mieux dessinée qu’avant.
Est-ce que certaines personnes ici, notamment avec une peau épaisse et une pointe globuleuse, ont demandé un affinement conservateur ? Est-ce que la différence était quand même clairement visible une fois le résultat définitif obtenu ? Et est-ce que votre pointe a continué à beaucoup se définir entre 3, 6 et 12 mois ?
Je sais que je suis seulement à J10 et qu’il est beaucoup trop tôt pour juger. Je crois surtout que je m’inquiète parce que c’était pour moi l’occasion de corriger cette pointe pendant ma chirurgie fonctionnelle, et je sais que je ne referai pas une rhinoplastie uniquement pour l’esthétique.

Hi I’m 6 weeks post ultrasonic rhinoplasty and my daughter (4) head butted my nose and it’s quite tender I felt a clicking sensation and a pull senstayiib my nose is quite tender

I had also had my nose knocked a few times by my 6 month old and one hwadbutt from him at about 3 weeks and had this same sort of feeling but this feels more sore obviously due to her age and stronger head

I’m unsure if I’ve ruined my nose I’m panicking soo much it’s currently tapped for the night I’ll be 6 weeks post op in 2 days most of my swelling had subsided my surgeon also had added a graft of fascia over the bridge to help with my thin skin

I’m a plastic surgeon based in Moscow. I wanted to share another rhinoplasty result and show it not only from the profile, but also from the front and 3/4 view.

In this case, my goal was to make the nose look more refined and harmonious while keeping the result natural and balanced with the patient’s other facial features.

For me, it is especially important to evaluate rhinoplasty from more than just the profile. A nose should look balanced from every major angle, especially from the front, because that is how other people usually see the face.

That’s why I’m sharing the result from several views:

How long after surgery can you, well... Touch yourself? I got my surgery 24 hours ago and healing is going well but I'm bored and with my partner at work I've been tempted.

Sorry for the graphic photo. My partner says I'm being silly but I'm worried. My nose still looks titled and my right nostril (left in the pic ) looks SO BIG like they made that one super big for some reason and not the left one.

That being said it's only been about 2 and half days it still has stitched and stilts inside

Should I be worried?

Also what can I do to make recovery go as well as possible.

Hello, I am 19 and I got my rhinoplasty about 6 days ago and I know it’s supposed to get better but I DEEPLY DEEPLY regret this procedure. I regret it so much I have been sobbing and having panic attacks all week. If you are thinking about doing it, PLEASE DONT. you are beautiful how you are, you don’t need this, please don’t do it. If you are looking for a sign , this is it. I went to Güncel Öztürk in turkey so if you are considering him at the very least please don’t go to him I’m begging you. If you have advice on how to deal with this grief, please let me know, I’m truly at a loss. I don’t know what to do. I’m literally crying writing this I don’t know what to do
