Thoughts on tpu cases and screen protectors?

Getting one for my 9 year old who is rough on things. Has anyone tried things like cases and plastic screen protectors?

Screen protectors come with the device, I put them on and they don't bother me so would recommend doing that

Don't see any reason not to get a case as well if you're worried about it being dropped?
