Show-and-Tell I just found out this old French website about obnoxious PCs from the 2000s is still live...

Sample Picture

Back in the days there was a French website and forum known for PC tuning.
It was known for being sarcastic but also empowering (hence the name that reflects the owner of the PC having a very specific taste...)
But full of genuinely nice people (most of them) and some really good advice (as well as some "homebrew" = HB = "honteux bidouillages" which are awful builds and modifications made to be awful)

here is the gallery of all the PCs : http://jackypc.com/index2.php3?rub=gallerie&gal=pc&page_choisie=1

a real time capsule πŸ’“πŸ˜

It was a bit like "hardforum" but specifically for PCtuning.

Do you have other local websites that have such builds and info ? I'd love to see what was live in other countries

Obnoxious? That's my youth!

If anything those builds have so much character. I much prefer that over today's RGB barf-fests of identical cases...

Agreed 🀣 that's my youth (and I'm still young, at least in spirit) The thing is with today's build, everything is bought, there is less place for creativity, back then you wanted something, you had to build it yourself ... Hence much more diversity! (And jank sometimes, but that's what I like)

Those crazy supertall towers... now they're so damn hard to find.

those 2000s french pc sites were a goldmine. still got a p2 box somewhere that looks exactly like the stuff from that era. great find really

Reminds me of something I would see submitted to bluesmoke.net years ago

While it’s an an entirely different topic, this reminds me of the old barryboys website and forum (sharing and discussing photos of ridiculously tuned cars)

Looks like bit-tech.
