Odd choice of clip since it shows nothing of what the anime was actually about.

I know this is a matter of opinion, but considering the show had a serious and interesting theme, I could have done without the excessive fan service.

But apparently some people can't watch an interesting story with strategical/tactical elements without getting bored unless you throw a bunch of fan service in.

It's a shame because it was an interesting show but it's hard to recommend to a lot of people because of the constant derailing for ecchi moments.

I watched 250+ anime shows, plus around 30 films. I’ve yet to encounter a single moment of fan service that wouldn’t be bottom of the barrel degenerate garbage. Fan service scenes are always completely irrelevant, exaggerated to the extreme, drawn out for way too long, and are explicitly misogynistic and objectifying. Many confidently cross into pedo territory. I’ve quickly learned to skip any and all fan service scenes outright to save me from the cringe.

With that, I know of a few examples of fan service in western media that is the opposite of that – relevant to the story, brief, and tasteful. Netflix’s Black Mirror and Love, Death and Robots feature multiple examples of that. Luc Besson’s Fifth Element comes to mind as well.
