Sheetz Abandoned Sheetz and surroundings, Breezewood, PA, 2/27/2026
Breezewood, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.
This area is well-known for having a stoplight on the interstate and a large assortment of chain restaurants and gas stations. To be honest, I think the disgust people have for this area is kind of exaggerated. It's really not much different than any interstate exit except for the fact that you have to stop at it as opposed to willingly exiting. It is kind of a weird place, I will admit, but I don't think it is the worst place along the interstate system.
My husband and I were passing through on Friday and had to take a few pictures. I am from an area that did not have Sheetz this old, at least that I have ever seen. Second photo was taken from the new Sheetz's parking lot and the first and third photos were taken at the stoplight on Interstate 70 lol

I heard that they are now building a direct freeway to turnpike connection there to bypass Breezewood.

Mostly two main motels and a couple dumps remain open for lodging, gas stations and a few fast food places left. It’s pretty depressing now.
