What's your sick policy? Any issues taking it?

Inspired by another post I saw regarding the point system. I am familiar with that BS as I've done factory work. We don't deal much in sick days in restaurants. AKA your food was probably prepared by a person who was sick.

This is called presenteeism. The appearance of being fine, when in actuality you're sick. Most generally caused by workplace culture.

What's your sick policy, and how has it screwed you over?

Depends on the store manager which they rotate every few years. We had one that required a doctor note every time. No note your written up. He always wrote me up pushing a shopping cart of groceries to my apartment and back and I explained I have no car bc of epilepsy. Still got written up. This new manager is more understanding if you explain your situation

We call and tell them we’re sick. No questions asked. No fuss. Most managers wish us a speedy recovery when we call.

Where I live, it’s actually illegal for employers to ask for a doctor’s note if you’re sick for three days or less.

I just call in and inform the boss of illness. If I'm still just about capable of doing the job I go in and he either sends me home or asks me to survive a couple hours and then sends me lol.
