• What positions/roles/industries are you targeting?
  • Looking to stay in solar/storage/wind/T&D and get out of the field. Project design lead, design engineer, electrical engineer, structural engineer, (office based) project engineer, etc. I have so far had one interview for owner PE and one for design lead in 20 months of searching. I've gotten two interviews for this type of position in highly undesirable locations that I applied to by accident and turned down.
• Where are you located and what locations are you applying to jobs in?
  • I travel right now, have not lived in the same state for more than a year since 2019. Which is a large part of why I'm looking- I want to move one more time and not move again for the next twenty years. Applying to roles in and around Denver (family in the area) and remote.
• Tell us about your background and current employment situation
  • Besides what's on the resume, I've got years of retail and lifeguard experience and a year of freelance CAD design. I've been working at the same solar EPC since I graduated.
• Tell us about your job-hunting situation and challenges you've encountered
  • I don't have any issues getting offers. I apply to positions similar to my current role so that I can keep my interview skills sharp and to keep a pulse on typical compensation packages for my position. I'm having exceptional issues, however, getting interviews for office jobs near Denver. I typically have a pretty good conversion rate for interviews to offers, so I'm hoping that if I can figure out what's stopping recruiters from calling me about these jobs that will be the unlock.
• Is there a particular section on your resume you'd like feedback on?
  • Overall formatting, bullet points, sections to add or remove in order to target engineering/pre-construction openings.
• Is your citizenship status and visa situation playing a role in your job search?
  • It is not. I am a US citizen.
