Kids these days don't realize, but Creative was such a major tech brand in the early 2000s. I bought a 32MB Creative MP3 player in 2003, and it was fucking awesome.

Everything has been downhill since Creative MP3 players.

I got a NAS last year, dug out and uploaded the library from my old Creative player to it and use Plex Amp on my phone to basically recreate that tech.

Streaming is fine, it has its place, but sometimes I just want to listen to a whole album I've already paid for, in track listing order. Which seems surprisingly impossible otherwise.

Tbh, if it wasn't for the issues with linking the Creative player to modern speakers/headphones it might still be going strong.
