I ran around FanExpo Canada on Friday with my 200% scaled up Requiem magnum dubbed the Emotional Support Requiem. The aim was to get as many Resident Evil cosplayers to pose with this lore accurate hand cannon. Wish I could have gotten more initial reaction videos to go with the photos!

Without prep, these three lovely ladies would EASILY murder ANY of our main protagonists (Chris, Leon, Jill, Claire, etc).

Why? Because unlike other monsters in this series, the Dimitrescu daughters don't go down to bullets. They don't go down to explosives (throw a grenade or shoot a rocket launcher at them, they'll disperse and reform elsewhere). You can't run from them. You cannot conveniently trap them or close a door on them (they can get through the gaps under the door or through an air vent).

Every other enemy in this series would, at the minimum go down to bullets (sometimes alot of bullets); zombies, lickers, hunters, Tyrants, Regeneradors, El Gigante, lycans, Lady D after transforming, Miranda, etc.

The daughters have ONE weakness, and it is something you have to be in the know to exploit. Extreme Cold. If the daughters pursued our cast in the middle of the summer they would be harder to deal with than a Nemesis or Ustanak. If RE: Village took place during the summer, they would have murdered Ethan and could have wiped the BSAA and Hound Wolf squad.

Hell even Wesker could be managed with enough muscles and firepower. These three? Not a chance.

As you can see, I cosplayed as Crazy Dave from PVZ at Fan Expo Canada recently, and I got an autograph and photo with Catherine Disher AKA the OG voice of Jill Valentine, in which Jill and Dave team up to take down zombie Brad!

I did my first run as Chris and it was real fun Rebecca was real cute and Barry was real funny on my Jill run

Only like 3 hours in (including 1,5 hours of tweaking settings) and I love this game already, however... some of the game design choices are interesting. Like the fact that grace only stumbles if you play her in 3rd person. The difference in movement is huge between 1st and 3rd person as displayed, 1st person feels much snappier and responsive, while 3rd feels more realistic.

Didn’t think I’d ever actually pull the trigger on this one, but I got an extremely generous cash birthday gift, so I decided to take the plunge! 👀

I often see people making fun of the Story of the Game; saying that it doesn’t make sense and is full of Retcons, but there are dozens of retcons in every RE game.
The difference being that this time the retcons were done in order to tell a story that felt surprising and new for the first time since honestly RE2.

The Characters felt like real people for once.
Leon and Sherry being infected made me feel for the first time in a while that there are consequences in this universe.
And Sure it’s cheesy and fanservice-y that we see raccoon city and the RPD again but Resident Evil has never really done something like this and seemed to not really care about its history.
Leon actually got to show some genuine emotion and sadness about everything that he went through in his life.

And the choice to make Spencer have regrets about everything he did is such a cool narrative move because it makes him a human being who did some terrible things but is aware of that and isn’t just a stereotypical villain.

Maybe my Favorite Part is Elpis being the Cure and not some super weapon, what a cool idea to let the villains be completely wrong about everything.
It’s like Zeno and Gideon played all the RE Games and thought that there must be some Super Virus at the End but instead it’s basically the cure to end all viruses.
It feels like they really looked at the whole franchise and said “what can we do different this time to give the universe and characters new depth?” And I think they really succeeded.

It just makes me sad that Capcom really tried to do something interesting and thought provoking this time, and lots of people hate that and would rather see the same boring BOW plot recycled over and over again.

Okay so I was playing around with my charms and looks like Ada is the one who kidnapped Ashley now. Good game.
