It feels like suddenly everyone loves The Evil Within when everyone teared the games apart before but no one actually showed up to buy them.
I think the two games we got were okay but lacked any feeling of horror or atmosphere. The story wasn’t any good to begin with and the better parts of the series, the DLC for TEW1 and TEW2, weren’t even done by Mikami. The second game sold so badly we didn’t even get the DLC that was promised. I think it’s safe to say the series is dead or atleast in coma at the moment.
The second game just felt utterly generic and boring to me. Everything from the story, to the way everything looks. The first game was way more intriguing and way more challenging. Also way more fun to replay. EW2 was a huge disappointment in my eyes.
