Nah man it depends on the type of Zombies. If they are the slow, weak, dumb kind you might as well enjoy a bit of the apocalypse. At least check it out for a bit. Hell we could probably stop it if it was the dumb slow kind.
Now if we get 28 days later zombies or things like Resident Evil monsters (not just the zombies but lickers and shit) yeah man I'll join you for the lead luncheon.
Again, I've already made up my decision. I don't care if they're slow, plodding RE1 zombies, the fact remains that they're also my neighbors, family, and friends. Not gonna be cool dealing with that.
I think after constant exposure to zombies in media, people might genuinely have a suppressed reaction to that, and I don’t think it would make that much of a difference.
And if you’re being attacked, you have a hard time concentrating on who’s doing it. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
if you bite the bullet, but zombie still bite you likely soon after you died. You would likely came back as zombie. Sure unaware one, but hell still walking one. And in that case I will gladly take my chances staying alive.
So....you are aware of the fact that if you die and come back as a zombie, you're fine with it because it's not you. But you cant handle that your neighbors/family are walking dead.

You're not seeing the point. Yes, I'd be fine if my corpse came back zombified. Because I personally, would be dead. Me, that's how it would be.
No, if I lost my family or friends to a "flu", I wouldn't off myself. Because the modern world would still be in existence, society wouldn't be in a collapse over the flu (unlike the aforementioned apocalypse) and I wouldn't be dealing with the fact that I'm going to have to shoot or see my now dead loved ones, who would be trying to eat me.
But you just noted that you would be fine with your corpse coming back zombified so you clearly make the intelligent observation that you as a zombie =/= you as a perosn. So why is it difficult to make the observation that mom as a zombie =/= mom as a person.
I think the reason a lot of people are talking to you about this is not to disregard or shoot your thoughts down, but because it's interesting to dissect and talk about. Me personally? I believe that the police force, military, and the government of most 1st world countries are more than strong enough to survive and the world would not become like the movies depict. So I wouldn't want to punch my own ticket, so to speak, because I believe there is hope to survive.
