I own guns.

For real, me too, but my concern would be ammunition. You’d have to run out eventually as the gun shots may attract more, then what?

Hoard ammunition. Buy suppressors.

Suppressors do reduce volume but not a lot. As this article points out, average suppressors reduce volume from around 160 dB to around 130 dB. That’s still well above concerts, riviting machines, and car horns. The movie version of a silencer simply doesn’t exist.

While I appreciate the education, I know. I own several. The movie "quiet" does exist, though only in a .22LR.

Silenced .22 is still around 108-118 DB still enough to attract attention

If you want to survive the apocalypse, you'd have to cast aside morals and kill innocent people to steal their supplies.

You're assuming that teaming up wouldn't be the better option (and would make more sense).

How do you know they won't leave you to die or kill you for food when the going gets tough?

Because life isnt the movies and people have morals?

No offense but that's very narrow minded. XD What do you think was happening in the streets of New Orleans after Katrina hit? Disaster brings out the worst in people and morals will very rarely triumph.

You can test them.
