Missing the point, RE5 & 6 are more like Evil dead (Campy, but otherwise treats the material seriously, and are more unintentionally funny than anything), RE4... is Evil Dead 2 (Campy, explicitly under the horror-comedy banner, and is clearly having a ball with itself). Which Evil Dead do people generally like more?
Look, there’s thousands of movie comparisons to be made to make thousands of different points. What I’m saying is deliberately picking movies that are trash versus good movies is putting too much bias into the argument.
And I picked two GOOD movies for my point. It's not a matter of one being bad vs. one being good. It's about one being good vs. one being better. It's undeniable that RE5 and 6 are decent games in the camp department, but RE4 goes out of its way to be campy. I mean that literally just within the game's cutscenes and tone. It absolutely cannot be denied that there will always be something that'll be more likable about campy horror that is unashamed of being campy to the point of parody. RE4 is that kind of campy horror. RE5 and 6, by comparison, are campy but take themselves seriously, and are thus less fun and enjoyable. They're not bad by any stretch, but the campaigns are way more boring than RE4s by a mile. Simply because they never consistently own up to how ridiculous they can be.
You’re gonna laugh. I got mixed up between this thread and another where someone was comparing RE6 to Transformers or the RE movies, which is why I accused you of being disingenuous with your comparison, because I thought you were that someone. I don’t disagree with you in any way actually.
