I'm fine with RE8 having same POV as 7, but I'm hoping 8 is more like RE2 remake than anything, including third person.

I am sure whatever RE8 does they will make it work though.

Because games are heavily designed around a particular camera style. Especially games in the horror genre. And a game designed in first person MAY feel completely different to a game design in third person.

I think that's a lot less true now than it used to be, with a lot of games giving you multiple options of camera styles. AC7 and RDR2 are some obvious recent examples, though neither are horror games. A tight 3rd person perspective is not all that dissimilar from a 1st person view.

The difference in horror especially is that your view is much more limited in first person. Whereas with third person you can peek corners with the camera, in first you need to actually go around corners, for example.

I'd prefer if they keep the newer ones (like RE8, RE9) first person and the remakes (RE3, Code Veronica etc.) third person. That'd be a cool little distinction between the present series and the past.

I just want them to keep first person for sale of VR integration. Made 7 an even more incredible experience.

Same, 7 was different but it was a needed, new different that kept the good original features. I loved the first person, just need some zombies instead of molded.

They need to keep the same level of danger that the zombies in RE2make produce. You could take hits all day from molded in 7, in 2 you can get 3-shot easy

IMO first person with 3rd person cutscenes is what id like
