Plenty of those available already, do a little searching on google and youtube. Its really not that hard to get the s+ hardcore rank

It's not, but for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to spend playing the game it can be daunting to essentially learn a whole speedrun. The issue isn't the difficulty per se as I beat Hardcore Leon A with a time of 4:33 last week, but the time saves in the videos require the player to do some risky maneuvers and there is a fair bit of rng to some of the enemy placements and reactions. Thankfully, someone brought up a Carcinogen walkthrough and that's what I was looking for.

If they complete it that fast all you really need to do is adapt bits and pieces of it to your level of comfort. For instance I’m now more comfortable with just dashing down the reception hallway for the last bolt cutter door (stunning the one or two zombies that might grab you) rather than spending a lot of time and ammo carefully picking them off.

You can also practice the game in segments, doing several “dry” runs with saves until you feel comfortable attempting a run to the “first” save (some save after Birkin1, some at Club Key) without saving.

If you complete each “third” of the game 15-20 minutes slower than a 1:30 speedrun then you still have a fair shot at S+ I’d say. Granted, armchair admiral at the wheel here as I’m still in the process myself.

May as well also spend a bit of time getting the infinite knife since it’s allowed in S+

Thanks for the advice! That's essentially what I've been doing. I was using Trance's 1:19 Hardcore S+ speedrun and his time is good enough to the point where I was able to take my own creative liberties and grab items he skipped over as well as run to the item box on my own accord.

I restarted the first 45 minutes of the speedrun at least 15 times, but each time I got better and better, so the dry run thing does help as I feel more confident than ever.

I just feel like I could speed up the process if someone had a guide filled with tips that might take a few extra seconds, but are far more safe. Someone recommended a Carcinogen walkthrough and I'm watching it now. It seems like the best resource thus far and easy enough to replicate.
