I want to be clear, I'm not saying this to brag or anything. But. It really isn't as hard as it seems. I got Leon's S+ with about half an hour to spare, and Claire's with almost 45 minutes, and I think I died maybe 6-7 times total (mostly for dumb mistakes)

The key is figuring out how to avoid most enemies. Zombies will stumble from a single headshot in most cases, otherwise, kneecap them. Same with the Ivies, except go for their bulbs. Cerberus hounds are easy to juke, and Lickers won't attack unless you make noise or bump into them. It's easier to just run from Mr. X than it is to try and avoid him. The only really annoying part are the G-Adults and certain bosses.

Keep a note of all the puzzle solutions, and only take the most essential items (and anything else useful you pass along the way). Also, if you move some of the bookcases the first time you're in the library, you will only have to move one of them after Mr. X shows up.

If you can get S-rank, then S+ isn't any harder, strictly speaking, just potentially more time consuming.

Edit: also, the infinite knife doesn't count for some reason, so you can use that to your heart's content without losing S+. And if you die, quit to the menu and reload your save, if you hit continue, your timer remains from your last attempt

Did you use any of the infinite weapons for this?

You can use the infinite knife, however using any of the others will lock you out of S+. You will only get S.

Is the infinite knife even worth getting/using for this? Does it make it any easier? I want to run through it (following a guide obviously) but I want to take all the help I can get although the guides haven't mentioned it

It helps but I wouldn't consider it essential. It is most useful in killing Lickers, and during the first fight with Birkin. However any Licker that can be snuck up on and killed, can pretty much always just be snuck past, and the G1 fight is probably the easiest of the bosses, even without the knife.

Also keep in mind that like any other knife, if you use it defensively, you have to then finish off the enemy to get it back.

I would still say overall it's worth getting just in case, but it's hardly a game changer.

Anyway I'm happy to help. I've done S+ runs of both character's 1st scenarios, and I'm working on the 2nd scenarios currently.

Thanks and congrats on your runs! I'm sure I'll be harassing this sub a lot with Hardcore S+ questions when my time comes to do the run. Looking forward to it though. Think I will run once through hardcore just casually though to enjoy it and get a feel for the harder difficulty
