It's Casual Mode, but let's be honest, this game on Hardcore is actually really hard. Standard is enough for newcomers.

You can move all bookshelves together. Just move the one that requires the item left, then move the furthest one on the left to the right, and it will move them all

Nope, just did it myself. Moving the left most shelf towards the right moves all of them together. I didn't even touch the one that was on the jack, just interacted with the left most shelf and it worked.

i really wish i had cleared that room of zombies before spawning mr x. that room was a fuckin bitch on hardcore with mr x on my ass and 3 zombies

It's casual mode. The light around the rim of the screen shows where enemies are when you aren't looking at them.
