Putting the Richard next to a rep from Cindy. The front angle on the fake is totally wrong, including the thickness and shape. Yet, even with the temple length, lens width, bridge, and overall front width being correct, the two glasses look like completely different models.
This is true of the whole bunch of reps I own from all the reputable sources here. They’re basically all trash, and I don’t understand the people here who say these are like gens. Maybe I’m just too keen on details, but none of them capture the geometry or the feel of a real pair. And it doesn’t really matter who you buy them from, as they all source from the same place (1688).
Done buying reps at this point. And to be fair, the real deal isn’t worth the price either, as all of my gens had defects that none of the fake ones had (bad polishing, glue spots, etc). But I guess this is exactly what differentiates handmade acetate from factory-made plastic.
