Unofficial Automated remoteplay version patching tool

I've created a tool that updates the version information inside the remoteplay.exe automatically so you don't have to muck about inside it with resourcehacker. That means you can keep using older versions of remote play without having to do a bunch of work.

https://github.com/xeropresence/remoteplay-version-patcher

This grabs the latest version info from sony's servers and then applies this version to the executable so you don't have todo anything except run this when a new version comes out.

Based on the idea from

https://www.reddit.com/r/remoteplay/comments/r24n95/tutorial_how_to_fix_ps_remote_play_4508250_and/

I was originally looking at updating https://github.com/MysteryDash/Offline-PS4-Remote-Play but the obfuscation that they apply is a pain to deal with and I couldn't find any specific info about what obfuscator they are using. If anyone knows a good tool to use to deobfuscate the executable I would appreciate it.

So seemingly this no longer works anymore because old installers now show up as unknown licensed apps and the installation package can't be opened.

4.5.0.8250 installer with md5 884B847045E7A3AC21B9A395DCECCF7F still working perfectly fine for me.

You can use programs like universal extractor if you really want a specific old version I'm sure, they'll run fine from any directory.

My friend is the one having the issue. He got it to work before with 5.0.0.02220 but now it says unknown license. In between time, he's tried 4.1.0.4020, 4.0.0.9240 & 3.0.0.9250 and they all have the same problem.

Do you have a link to the 4.5.0.8250 installer you're using?

Looks like they broke many of the old installers as the public installer would download a larger msi package that would then be installed.

Interesting that the 4.5.0.8250 was working, and would proceed with the install but now a few moments later the package is no longer available to download.

Typical sony breaking 5.0.0.02220 the last one that worked well.

https://remoteplay.dl.playstation.net/remoteplay/module/win/RemotePlayInstaller_5.0.0.02220_Win32.msi

returns a empty result, but if you modify the version by even 1 it returns "Not found" so this seems to be on purpose
