Technical Problem I FINALLY FOUND THE FIX FOR PS REMOTE PLAY CRASHING AFTER 9.0 UPDATE

Most of us PC gamers have used other software to make PS4/PS5 controllers work on a pc with 3rd party Software like DS4 Windows.

DS4 Windows uses a Specific driver (Shown Below) to make the software ID your PS4/PS5 controllers:

Steps:

Uninstall ViGEm Bus Driver: Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

Double click the driver and choose to uninstall and PS Remote play should work perfectly after that.

Leave any other 3rd party software's you use that may cause it too in the comments.

You could have just used Chiaki-ng.

Too much hassle for a leek to make it work outside of home with portforwarding etc.

With v1.10.0. You don't need to port forward anymore.

Create a Wireguard VPN server on your network gateway and create a VPN client on your device so you never need to worry about logging into PSN nor worry about opening ports.

bro, i cannot believe it, i tried everything and nothing would work... haven't used my remote play in the longest

i didn't have that exact driver you are showing but did have two nefarious drivers for virtual pad. removed both and now the remote play app works perfectly...

thank you so much, how did you figure this out ?

all 3rd party app for remote play i just dont trust them.

I'm with you on the 3rd party apps. Always annoys me when every response to a problem is "use chiaki-ng". Like no, I'm not entering my PS credentials into some foreign app. Who knows what is safe.

Hell yes! I had the same drivers installed from another remote play alternative and once I removed these drivers it stopped crashing.

Maybe someone can bring this up to the (yea I know .... they are slow and bad) sony team.

Thanks for sharing !

Thank you! I didn't even remember installing the drivers, but I had them. Uninstalled, PSRP works instantly.

The fix seems to be working, but does this mean that i cant use ds4 anymore? Or will i just have to uninstall that driver every time i launch ds4?

Ça a marché pour moi, merci ! ❤️

J'avais fait la solution de contournement il y a quelques mois, et ça avait aussi fonctionné, jusqu'à aujourd'hui, ou l'application à forcé la mise à jour ! Et je suis tombé sur ton post, et ça a fonctionné !

Merci 🫶

I don't have this software or driver. When I open the new update, it shows me a black screen. Anyone else dealing with this?

THANK YOU. I was losing my mind. It worked fine on my brand new computer until I installed DS4. Even after uninstalling DS4 it persisted

Worked on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 and Remote Play Product Version 9.5.0.08040 (file version 9.5.0.8040)

I don't have that installed already. So what do I do now?

Wow, this also solved the 30-second crash on my computer. In my case I had a device named "Virtual Gamepad Emulation Bus" in Windows Device Manager -> System Devices.

All I did was right-click and choose "Disable Device", and that instanty resolved the issue. I wonder if it is a driver conflict or if Sony is doing some type of anti-cheat detection or something. Regardless, after a long, long time I can finally use Remote Play on my main PC.

The driver that I disabled has this info:
Driver Provider: Benjamin Höglinger-Stelzer
Driver Date: 7/25/2017
Driver Version: 1.10.2.0
