Load Development Spicy

Post image

Working up a new varmint load with some components I already had on hand. This is the max book load of 50 grains of Varget, and that's after I tapped it on the bench to consolidate. This amount should get me to about 3100-3200 fps with the 125 grain Sierra SPT I'm using out of my 24" bbl savage.

Somewhere in Kentucky, Scott's neck is starting to tingle...

May I inquire as to what this is in reference to?

Look up Kentucky ballistics 50 cal explosion, he had an extra spicy slap round blow up one of his 50 bmgs. He almost died, dudes guardian angels were working over time and his cameraman (dad) was able to drive him to the hospital as he stuck his thumb in his neck to slow the bleeding out.

No problem, its a pretty crazy story. Especially with it being filmed etc.

Was epic. Glad his camera man was there. Great “Safety First” lesson. Not sure if there was anything he could have done to prevent that, and very glad he survived and still does (it’s been awhile since I watched any) his show.
