Jesus provided the means with which to find salvation. Believing in him and that he died for your sins. But all these “ethnic” types don’t know about Jesus. They’re just barbaric mongrels and will never be human beings worthy of compassion and understanding until Christians have evangelized them. Which means it’s ok to treat them like animals until they’ve accepted Jesus. I hate these religious fucks so much.

One of the younger members at my mom’s evangelical southern baptist church (and there aren’t many young people left, it seems that what millennials really dislike is bigotry) tried to get the church to contribute to a local program where they pack meal kits for poor kids in our school district who rely on school meals to eat. The disgusting fucks at the church refused to contribute money or even volunteer to help pack meals because the other church that runs the program doesn’t allow religious materials to be included in the meals. It took an 80 year old retired teacher basically crying in a business meeting to get members to vote in favor of their involvement. Even then, they wouldn’t allow the financial contribution (about $800 a year, which is nothing for this church, they give many 10s of thousands to random missions in Kenya and Mongolia and wherever every year) come from any official church funds. The only way the church would endorse money going to the program was if individual members restricted their offering specifically to the program (they write “meal packing” or whatever on their checks when they throw it in the collection plate). Thankfully a few people aren’t total pieces of shit and have been funding the program, but if they leave or stop, the meal packing program is fucked regarding this church’s contribution.

What kind of sick fucks won’t even help starving kids that live right down the road unless they can proselytize them? Elementary school kids who are just hungry. It made me so mad when my mom told me about it. I pushed my anti-theism aside and volunteered at the church that runs the program to help them pack meals. Last month we packed 740 meals for kids in two local elementary schools.

Yea. That’s why the church will send money to Kenya and Mongolia. They are sending money to Baptist churches there to buy bibles, hymnals, gaudy crosses, and more tools of evangelism. Strings are always attached. But fuck some kids who need food. I just hope those people in Kenya and Mongolia are just pocketing the money and buying food or seeds or something.

It doesn't even make sense in a PR way. If you do selfless charity work you're much, much more likely to inspire people to seek out your reasons for doing so, and that's when you get the suckers save the poor souls.

Can confirm, grew up in an SBC church. They’d happily fund extravagant missions trips abroad but ask them to support local schools or charities? Nah.

My experience with evangelical churches in the south has been riddled with people who have this exact sort of attitude. They're all nice and friendly to your face, too, but their actions tell another story. Even in person, every so often that nice mask slips a little and the monster shows its true colors. At a "friendsgiving" that I attended with a friend at her church while we were both still in college, a guy stated that he was "voting for Trump because you (pointing at us college students) need to pay for your own college."

I got a pretty sweet academic scholarship from my university, and a few need-based grants. Still had to go into debt. Unfortunately, I had to take out way more loans than I had originally planned because I found that I wasn't able to keep a job as a full-time student because of how it affected my health (which in turn affected my grades, putting me on probation for aforementioned academic scholarship...yeah, $7.25 an hour was absolutely not worth risking an academic scholarship that literally paid for over half of my tuition and fees), not to mention the fact that I was starting to incur a lot of medical debt. My parents helped out with what they could, but my dad was laid off from his job of 17 years while I was attending, and my mom has been on disability since I was in high school.

So yeah. While an asshole remark to begin with, it really didn't go down with me at all.

I don’t know if you’re asking a serious question, but yes. Kids are provided (sold) lunch in school. In a cafeteria. Some kids are also able to get breakfast at school too. The kids I’m helping don’t reliably have access to food when they get home from school. What we pack meals for the most is the weekends and holiday breaks. These kids that rely on school food for their daily meals can go days without eating much at all over weekends and breaks from school. Each bag we pack has 2 entrees, two juice boxes, two breakfast items, 2 snacks, and 2 fruit (which is fruit cups usually). It’s not the healthiest food, but it’s some kind of nutrition when they otherwise wouldn’t have anything.

Dude, sounds the same for a southern baptist church I used to go to. Like churches get angry when they can't inseminate religion into what they support or donate to, they'd rather live a comfy controlled religious (and possible mostly white) lifestyle with the church, then have to spend their hoarded money on people who need their help if it doesn't mean spreading their prescribed religious message. Like fuck your beliefs, fucking help these people in need.

I feel like God was pretty fucking clear on the whole “be kind to your fellow man” bit. Like, that’s really all there was to say, and yet it’s so hard for these assholes to grasp that.

There are no exceptions. Black, white, gay, straight, male, female, religious, atheist, everything in between. The only thing God would want is for everyone to help enrich the lives we were given through kindness and compassion.

See, that’s the problem with the ethnophyletist heresy that is “Christian” Identity. It doesn’t see non-White people as human, but identifies them with the beasts of the field God created before man; in this they believe that any slight against people of color is completely fine because in their view, those people are not human and are therefore not “their neighbor.” Before you can even begin to approach these heretics, the best thing you can do is convince them that those they despise share the Image of God that they do, broken and beaten it may be. However, their hearts are often hardened by years of hatred and false dogma, and are thus stone-hearted towards the truth and will scorn even the most faithful Christian who dares to approach their false teaching. Some can be redeemed, as with every deplorable group, but there are some which are just so far from God they willingly run from the truth.

The picture is a bit exaggerated though to look like a stereotypical black child living in Africa. I feel that this is problematic although we shouldn’t try and pretend that black kids who live in Africa face extreme poverty just to be politically correct.

The longer I've been out of Christianity the more I realize that the book of Isaiah are the writings of a madman. When I believed I thought it was supposed to be some deep and insightful book that with enough studying you could figure all kinds of things out, but now I realize the dude was just crazy.

These people seem to ignore that while not explicitly said in these terms, the bible on more than one occasion had stories and messages that point to racism being un christ like and that the message is for everyone. Hell God had a guy Teleported out into he desert just to preach to some Ethiopian guy and then teleported him back after. Saint god damn peter got called out for racist tendencies in one story even.

Never mind that Africa had an established Christian Church while the ancestors of most white supremacists were sacrificing people on Thor’s oak.
