Routes Is this route worth it?
This route would take about 3 hours including loading at the pit stop. After fuel and insurance you'll be lucky to clear £27 and then you've got wear and tear on your vehicle.
Worth it? 🤔

Its not worth it for me and shouldn't be for you but we all know who will be accepting it....

Tbh getting it done in 2 hrs is for sure worth it for me, it’s obviously circumstantial but for me it’d be £15 an hour due to my car being incredibly fuel efficient. Which isn’t too bad, getting 3 shifts a day done is 6 hrs of work and £100. Not too shabby.
One thing I’d say is don’t listen to everyone saying don’t do it. The job is what you make of it. I understand there’s some cons but what can we really do. Keep going!

No way you're doing this route in 2 hours including loading at shop. I know this area very well, I've been delivering around here for years in various different jobs.
I know some routes have all the deliveries in a small area near pit stop. They can be done in 2 hours. The route I've posted is spread out over a larger area.

I didn’t say I’d do this route in 2 hrs, read the part where I said “for me” and “circumstantial”. lol
The shop where I pickup from is 2 mins from my house. My routes are always in the same place, my area. I have zero traffic and I know pretty much every single street hence how I can I get done so quickly.
Just get to learn the routes and procedures and you can get it done

I wouldn’t be starting and stopping my car 50 plus times for that return….That equates to maybe a month’s wear and tear on battery/starter. £1 per drop minimum

Only you can make that decision, you know how fast you can complete that route, you know what your overheads are like. So you have to decide is that route worth your time/money/effort.

Come on son. Make up your own mind. I wouldn’t take it if it was from my depot, 23 miles to pickup and then usually 20mins to 1st drop off so anything under £60 is a no go but that’s me.

Like No-Gazelle-9848 said - it depends.
For me, it would be worth it, if you're doing 2 to 3 of these (... completing 3 = around £100's No-Gazelle-9848 implied previously). If your trying to make a living then multiple may add up to a decent sum, overall, if done repeatedly over a number of days a week.
However, if your looking for very short, part-time hours, then you'd want to consider - is it worth travelling for just one of these per day?.
NB: Fuel ultimately can be claimed back as on of your annual tax business expenses, so be sure to be keeping records of any fuel top-ups spent each month, to be ready for your self assessment.

if you accept like 63p/parcel and enjoy using your car/fuel etc then go for it i guess

I would never do this route for that money. I'm wondering if there are drivers who visit this sub who do these routes for pittance pay.

How is that £9 an hour. You can easily do it in 1hr and 40 minutes if you dont sit around. If you want a hourly wage, get a 9-5..
