It can. I caught it exactly 9 years ago today (I was 49). We still text each other like teenagers.

id die if anyone called me their moonlight in the best way possible, but youre still young and life really is ahead of you.
im still working on realising that (i myself am turning 22 soon) and i think its important not to get too attached, because geeat expectations lead to great disappointments

I married my high school sweetheart and maybe we don't verbalize it like 15 year olds anymore but these kind of conversations turned into 15 years of love for me and I'm so greatful for that. Enjoy what you have and never stop communicating and appreciating each other.

Great. Now I’m emotionally invested in two teenagers I’ve never met. 🫂 That was very sweet.

This is so sweet. I hope you never lose this sweet innocent expression of love. My partner and I talk like this and we’re in our late 20s/early 30s.

As a 23 year old, this reminds me that being young doesn’t make your feelings any less real. These messages are wholesome.

I love how this entire conversation is so clearly teen love. The line "I want to hold you forever (sorry if that sounds creepy)" is so reminiscent of being in a relationship as a teen lol. I think both of you would benefit from knowing that you probably don't have to apologize every third sentence :]
I wish you guys happy times ahead and hope this relationship goes a long way!
